yes, i know..another post from this thread, but this time, its a serious issue that i need some help to fix. yesterday, i bashed my 18t around and everything went perfectly normal. after that, i left it on when the battery was low to let the power run out, thats what you're supposed to do right? because it will get a better charge if the battery is dead. anyway, the connector must have gotten really hot because when i went to plug it in last night, it had melted together and i couldnt get it apart. i got it apart today with pliars and its really messed up, what do i do?
 
as far as conditioning the battery.. no, you do not need to run it down. I believe that battery is a Nimh. Nimh batteries do not "need" to be discharged. You can charge them no matter how much they have been discharged. As far as fixing your battery it sounds like you need to cut the connector off of both the battery and speed control lines and resolder to a new connector. Most people use Deans connectors.

i hope the esc didnt get fried, anyway, thanks. that looks like a lot better connector. i didnt like the stock one at all from the beginning. that means id have to change it on the charger too right? and how do i get it off

Yes, you'll have to put the proper connector on the charger lead as well. Trust me.. you'll end up doing this eventually anyways.

How do you get what off? A little more specific please. :thumbup:
 
For a good inexpensive motor try the Reedy SP19 my LHS has them for about $35 and all you have to do is plug it in place of the stocker.

As far as the charger goes, invest in a good after market peak charger. They're relatively inexpensive and you can use the good ones on just about every battery pack you own. I use my charger to charge the packs for my 18t and 18r as well as my TX and the RX battery on my Revo.:buggy1:
 
well, i went to hobbytown today and bought a new battery(the guy said you dont want to use the one that was there when the connecters melted) anyway, i also bought the new plug to connect from the esc. he said use the soldering iron to melt the solder holding the wire to the esc and pull the wire off, but when i i got home the solder on the car would not melt, any clue on what to do?
 
Id cut the old ones off. The strip a little pice of the plastic off the wire then soder from there.

well, after running last night, i brought it in to look at the damage. one of the holes for the hood pin got scraped to thin and broke, so i looked at the other one too. its also wearing very thin. i went to towerhobbies to see if i could find one but i couldnt on towerhobbies. anyone know a site that would sell one?
 
I saw on the board in one of the forums that is if you have a scrap piece of lexan, you can cut a small washer-shaped piece out of it and glue the piece to reinforce the body.:jade:
 
well i just got the thing fixed after a while and I've been sitting here 15 minutes trying to get the antenna through the new sleave thing. is there some secret to getting this thing on it?

Put some baby powder in the palm of your hand put the antena in your palm and then pull the antena wire through, coating your wire and then it should just slide throught antena tube. You could also spray a bit of window cleaner in the antena tube and then push your antena through. Hope this helps!

my uncle that deals with wiring in his job just told me to spray some wd40 down the tube. it worked great
 
I was going to suggest a bit of dish soap, but it looks like its already been figured out.
