ok i was outside and next to my house is a dirt hill...when i was driving, the car started making a popping noise every time i hit the trottle. I'm no expert but i dont think thats supposed to happen. I've looked at the gears i can see and i dont see anything that could have gotten into it

the vibration feels like its coming from the erar differentials

Check your diff. It sounds like you may have either thrown one of the bearings, or broke a diff gear. Either way I would start by opening up and inspecting the diff.

kk ill get to it
lol how do i pop the little balls that hold the shocks out?

I put a small screwdriver underneath the ball cup and hold the tip of it against something solid like the upper brace.. this isn't going to work....

here.. pics are better

now just pry up with the screwdriver.. try to keep the screwdriver as close to the ball stud as possible.

*edit*
Duh! you said shocks, not turnbuckles.. hehe, sorry. The easiest thing is to unscrew the top one and just pry the shock till the lower one pops off. When you get a chance you can drill small holes through the middles of all the ball ends so you can simply unscrew the entire ball stud w/o having to pop off the ball end all the time. Obviously, I havn't done that mod yet.

how do you drill a hex shaped hole?

i opened up and looked at the differentials...everything looks fine to me
i wonder if a lil pebble got into the motorand ist doing something in there, how can i check that out? oir do you have other ideas?

Man this happens to me all the time. Just the smallest nick in you spur gear will make it tick like a clock. If its not that you striped a gear in the rear diff which is what this sounds to be. Good luck.

With a hex shaped drill bit.

LMAO...
You drill a round hole in the ball cup so you can put your hex wrench directly into the stud and remove it without popping the ball end off.

ok...
i took it apart put it back together and its not popping anymore, but we'll see when i go out and run it

how does a round hole grip it?

i got it lol i looked at it and relized you dont have to lol i feel dumb

I can post a pic if you want.
I have to LOL because your not the first one to catch the drift of how the mod works. I'm not going to name the other person.

Sounds like your ESC, shut down.... is your ESC hot as well? I am not an expert... but I don't think the motor will actually shut down.. I think the ESC would shutdown... Someone chime in if I am wrong. What geart setup are you running?.... spur and pinion combo
