I was talking to my cousin the other day about the next rc project i want to do, nothing to big just a very very custom ntc3 and we got into how I'm going to fund the thing. I started to think about trading my t maxx for a used ntc3. When i told him what i thought he broke into this whole spin on loyalty to my first nitro and that no matter what, as long as i stay in the hobby that i should have that truck before any other. I agreed with him as he did make several good points about the relationship between me and my t maxx but it felt kind of weird having loyalty to a (best description on hand) toy on steroids. Does anybody else do this in their lineup?

i can see holding on to your first rig, i did for a long time but unless its a shelf queen it can hurt to sell it or whatever to help you get something else that you want, thats what i did was part mine out and have been doing that every since allowing me to build better rigs, so i think it would understand it gave its life for a good cause lol.

I sold mine and I really regret. Not because it was my first but because it was more fun than I thought it was at the moment.

Everything i have is always for sale. The price just has to be right.

If i would have kept my first rc, i probably wouldn't be in the hobby today. stupid tmaxx.

i dont have my first. i sold it to a buddy cheep to get him into the hobby and to fund a new rig.

I don't have my first RC either as I did what a lot of others did, and sold it to get a different RC.

I did however last year, buy the same type of truck that started this madness for me from eBay. Glad I did, kinda cool to have I think.

same here. the tmaxx is also what turned me OFF to nitro's and traxxas too. although i did have alot of fun with it i had more headaches because of it.

to be technical here, the maxx was not my first, a Heng Long Madtruck was my first and i actually just bought another one a few days ago.....kinda like you woodie but your first prolly wasn't as big of a pos as the Madtruck lol.

I'll never sell my first rc (Kyosh elestric ATV) Same with my savage. Its just not gonna happen.

I'll sell the tmaxx pro .15 though....Any takers?!?! :green-grin::p:

well then in that case does anyone have a ntc3 that they would be willing to trade, i have pics of the maxx in my photo gallery and if anyone is interested i will pm some pictures

I have a hard time staying loyal to something with a name like RedCat or worse Acme. lol

I sold my T-Maxx, and ended up trading for it back because it is one of those vehicles I love to hate, erm..hate to love...er that's it..I think.

Seriously though, it's different from person to person. When I got my T-Maxx, it was a piece of crap and I didn't know much about the hobby and I hated it. When my brother had it, I always wrenched on it for him which is something I never would do when I owned it. I ended up making it run so good, and replaced a lot of key things I ended up driving it more than him. Finally he told me he'd swap me for my RC10GT2 straight up, after installing $200 of parts onto it. I jumped on it, and wouldn't look back. I am so glad I was reunited with my first RC, others either don't care or know there's no way to get it.

The old saying applies, you don't know what you've got till it's gone.

I sold my fourth rig--my Nitro MT--and regret it. My first ever rig was a Tamiya Grasshopper. I don't even know what happened to it. Anyway, I have been thinking long and hard about getting a Hornet to replace it with...

I don't necessarily have "brand" loyalty, but I do have quality/durability loyalty. If HPI comes out with another variation of a MT, I'd be in line to get one just due to all the HPI items I've had were pretty durable. Same goes for the Losi with the LST* platform. Great design, good quality of components... hard to beat in general.

Out of all the RC's I've had, I've only regretted getting rid of two. I really regretted getting rid of the savage. I didn't regret it for the reason I got rid of it (basically given to a friend who was on hard times), but I did miss having a basher around. I got another not too long ago and couldn't be happier with it.

The other I kind of wish I had kept was my revo. I hated it as a MT, but I really would have liked to try it setup like the slayer. The smaller wheels/shorter arms and basic look I like far better as the slayer.

I sold my Warhead as soon as I got a replacement vehicle....mostly because someone offered me $160 for it when the RTX-27 was selling for $199 new. I do still miss it a bit since it was my first, but I have moved on to bigger and better things now! Plus I have too much other junk laying around.
