I wonder does anyone make these, if they dont how hard is it to build your own hulls and motor mounts.

cool something to get and seriously mod out. After the Brushless revo has been saved up and bought though. it says it has reverse but since its ducted how does that work?

It has an enclosed impeller, so I am guessing the reversing ESC just spins it in the opposite direction. While the jet drive looks realistic, it still has an impeller (read prop) on it.

right but that would work only if the exhaust port was under water ( which i don't think it would at rest) and it wouldn't have any steering capabilities

Exhaust port? What would be exhausted???

The drive system is designed to look like the real thing, but it is really a prop with a rudder behind it enclosed in a "jet drive". The jet doesn't move back and forth, the rudder inside does.

even still if the the end of the jet drive was out of water it would suck air in and no or very little water would get moved through the system in reverse

I am almost positive that the impeller pushes water that it ducts from under the boat. You are stuck on it being a functional jet drive. I could be wrong, but a real jet drive on a RC? That would cost way more than $90...

I am searching the net hoping to find a shot of the drive on that thing. Better yet, buy one and send me pics! ;)

it may or may not have an impeller setup but look at the bottom where it says "customers who bought this also bought" there is the vxl system in there

That section is what other customers whom bought the Jet Ski also bought. I hope you didn't assume that the VXL is installed!

i know but it shows that some had the idea to put that in there i think

jetdrives

I've bought several jetdrive units off ebay for around 30 bucks including shipping. I now have a guy I buy directly from in Japan.I have two that use the bucket to reverse and it works somewhat good, another 2 that just reverse the impeller only problem is it trusts the boats rear out of the water.over all I think there great units for creek and stream running as the drives up and away from the rocks and weeds!

AHA! Another post from the past! If you like them big, Warehouse Hobbies made only a few as they weren't that popular so they're not on the site but they still have the molds and laid one up for a friend of mine. He put regular running gear on his and used electric power instead of a gas engine. It's big as he takes his dog for a ride on it. The dog is poiled rotten as he also has a gas RC buggy that has an ATC body on it. I never got a picture of the dog with the boat but do have one with him riding on the ATC.

@ Ron,thanks I'll look into the warehouse. I turned a pocket quad into a rc,it was a lot of fun.The big toys are the most fun lol. Your friend rc is awsome, wish my dog would do more than try and catch mine lol.

At the time Tony had only made 13 of them, my buddies boat was #14.
Jack the dog is really cool and a babe magnet! Jul Alvarez pitted with me over a year ago at the Hobart Indy Masters race as you can only squeeze so much into a sports car. we had more hotties hanging around my pit than you could shake a stick at! Jul has a trailer that goes behind that ATC that he uses to haul the garbage with in his apartment complex and there are always people watching him and Jack. Why I didn't take any shots of the boat, I don't know as we finally got it on the water after sundown after the end of racing for the day. I had some cyalume night sticks that we stuck all over the boat so it could be seen better in the darkness.
Jul powered his with a low-cost electric setup but it's made for gas power. It would be up to you to power it any way that you'd like. Tony's hull is about 4 feet long and has the appearance of your normal sit-down Jet-Ski, not the stand-up style Kaw.

That's really interesting, Robin. It's got me thinking and that's dangerous.

I've been thinking longer and harder lol, the best way to mount in a V hull would be twins :whhooo:
