Not new to RC, but I am new to RC boats.

I just purchased a pro boat sonic wave 24. I learned enough before my first run to check all fasteners and to grease the flex shaft, etc.

The prop nut seemed secure to me, but I have no experience to gauge it.

On it's maiden journey, the boat became stranded in 30 seconds. Luckily I was able to wait till it floated near the bank.

The prop and nut was gone.

I can't find anywhere to replace the nut without buying the entire prop shaft or what size the nut is. I have already ordered new props.

I understand the nut is a nylon lock nut. Is there a torque spec to know how tight to fasten it. Should thread fastener be used?

I need to know how to find the replacement nut and how to fasten it properly.

Thank you

I looked up the replacement parts and you are correct that the nut needs to be bought with the shaft, ect. My first suggestion would be to determine the thread of the shaft and hence the nut. I suspect that it may be metric, so don't be surprised if it is. Metric lock nuts( nylon nuts) are readily available once you determine the correct thread. If it turns out to be SAE then all the better. I did see that the manual indicates using a 8mm nut driver, so I am guessing metric.
It does not indicate a torque amount, so I would try tightening the nut while holding the shaft wherever you can access it. It should not have come off.
