I hit a cement ledge doing about 45 with my schumacher menace 21. The mounting tabs on one of the servos broke and neither one will work now. I'm fairly new to nitro trucks and the whole rc vehicles. So I'm guessing if I replace the servoes with new ones everything should be good? The servoe that i cracked i spliced the wires and hooked it directly to a battery and it wouldnt work. So can a hard impact break a servo?

A hard impact can definitely break a servo or keep it from working correctly, but do not just assume it's the servo especially since neither servo is working. You could have a problem with the reciever and two new servos would act just as the ones you have now. If you have another car I would try the known working servos in your wrecked car, but if you do not have another car you may have to just buy a servo and hope for the best.

Unplug your on/off switch and plug the battery straight into the receiver. If it works, it means that your switch is broke. If not, you probably trashed the receiver or your servos. I went through this one time and it turned out to be the switch.

Earlier that day my servoes wouldnt work. I opened the little box with the batteries in it, and the batteries were coroded, i put some diff batterys it wouldnt work, so i swapped the battery pack from another car and it worked. I tried to plug different servoes into the reciever but the plug is different. I think ill just go ahead and order a new servoe beings the mounts are cracked on one and see if the new servo will work.

And thanks alot for the advice, i really appreciate it

Whats different about servo plug? If it is that little tab off one side you can just shave it off with a hobby knife and it will be fine. I had to shave all mine off to fit into my spectrum receiver. Also how old were your batteries to be corroded? Always keep fresh batteries in due to if they die then without a failsafe in your tx/rx system the rig will go wide open and uncontrollable when they get too weak or die. I recommend buying a rechargeable 5 cell hump pack to replace the AAA batteries on the car itself. You can get a 1600 mah one off ebay for about $12.

The batteries were corroded because water got in the from riding it in the rain and through some small puddles a few months back. I hooked the battery directly to the reciever without the switch and the servo works, so i just need to replace the switch.

You can get the same battery from Hobbypartz for $6.69. Right now, they are on sale.
