Everyone who gets a RTR buggy and likes it ends up either getting or wanting a better buggy in the long run you will save yourself a few hundered bucks if you save a little more NOW and buy a pro level buggy...even for bashing the mugen or Xray are tanks...kyosho is a pure racer

I'll throw my vote in for the Mayhem only because I own one. It's put together well and runs like the devil. I haven't broken anything yet (knock on wood). You'll also find a lot of suggestions for the Ofna buggies which are good budget buggies. Most will recommend the Hyper 7 series so that's one to look at.

Just curious, but where are you driving? Grass, dirt, pavement, construction sites?

Depending on where you have to play, a buggy may not even be a good fit for you.

I run a buggy (HB Lightning, i know, a cheapy) and a savage. The buggy is fun, fast and durable, but gets high centered. It doesn't have any more clearance than a stadium truck. Also, little pebbles get stuck up in the rims when I'm at my highway refinery, so I have to stop it periodically because one of the tires just locks up. Then I roll it backwards/forwards to get the rock out. Just a minor annoyance, but I don't have that problem with my savage.

Well I've had 5 buggies. If you're bashing just get a RTR, go with the best version of it tho. I wouldn't suggest a regular X-Term, go for the Deluxe and you'll be happy.

The mugen is a racer to.

IMO buggys are not for bashing, unless you get one of those cheap ofna RTR kits, I dont like them really.

If you want to bash, get a stadium truck like a rc10, cheap, durable, simple.

If you want to race, buggys all the way.

You can find some used MBX-4's or even MBX-5's on ebay for cheap.

BTW

Mugen > Kyosho :)

are the electric 2wd buggies good? As far as going through about 2-3 inch grass. I would be mostly bashing it off a jump. I would drive down the road, hit the jump and land in the grass. I would then drive out and repeat. I was mainly looking at the Duratrax Evader BX Pro. If this can go in grass well, I was also wondering if this would even have enough power to keep the car level in the air. I do not want to go off a jump and nose dive. Thanks a lot.
