I agree those are some super nice trucks!

I would say the purpose of the Raptor R was always more about upping their game on scale appearance in short corse class truck also with some nice features. .

I am sure we all can think of better basher trucks , better race trucks etc. etc.

Is there a more scale looking truck then the Raptor R in this 10th scale short course class?
That would appeal more to me than a lot of the more extreme performance bits.

Which is probably why UDRs have always been my favorite.

Working on making a custom white body Raptor R , I know first hand how they went to many extra lengths to make it more scale looking then any other in the class, lots of little detailed bits. Some of which I didn’t think of and now need to order so I can complete my white Raptor R build.

It looks good, I will give it that. Looks aren’t everything though. I look forward to seeing real reviews from people that have to pay their own money for this, and a long term review of maintenance costs/durability. These guys reviewing it received them to make a positive review.

Also, if looks are your thing....

Losi Baja Ray 2.0.

Mic drop.
That’s what I was thinking earlier, less money and probably right there at reliability 😂

Actually I have to say that the Traxxas newer thicker driveshafts are insane. I'd run them on 6S without worries. Hugely huge.

Losi Baja Ray is pretty fragile from what I've heard. Traxxas Trucks are where it's at for a good bashing platform (Until you get to the cars that are way overpriced, so any other then the BL-2s)

Why not steel dog bones though? I just don’t get it, it’s pretty ugly if we wanna talk about looks.
My mini maxx has huge plastic axle shafts, why not steel dog bones? So ugly.
My opinion here, just sayin

Or better, steel CVDs? 🤔 ;)

I do get it for this size of a truck since its more a basher, steel axles of any kind should be on it, durability wise and for the scale looks.
On smaller cars or ones that they think don't compare well to scale I would say? They probably use plastic to keep it light weight and cheap but Traxxas being Traxxas... They overcharge for anything and everything so at that pricepoint it SHOULD have steel axles, even especially because its on 4s but... Idk traxxas is traxxas.

Yeah, I get it, but I just don’t get it. They could make some really solid cars but, fall short on so many things. It confuses me. I want to like them but I cannot because of these pitfalls. It’s a shame.
Why go through the trouble of machining aluminum spindles and hubs yet have plastic axle shafts?

They are sharp 1/10th scale trucks, and very scale looking standing still and in motion.

I agree at $ 550 retail it’s got an attractive price point too.
I would say it’s probably the most scale looking Baja truck on the market in 1/10 scale.

It’s a very attractive package for sure.

I am not sure I will ever be as driven to put it on my want list, since I am way too far down the collecting and Bashing rabbit hole with Traxxas. For me to buy another brand of RTR, I would need new batteries, chargers, possibly a few specialty tools, and a few common spare parts.
That Baja Rey is tempting me though. Lol
