X-Maxx. Lots of parts gathered already. Designed and fabricated battery trays over the weekend.

Man Joostin, you sure are building a lot of awesome stuff with high end stiff. Can I ask what you do for a living? I think I'm doing something wrong lol

Deconstruction has begun :D custom cf battery plate test fit, steering Servo set up. Getting read to tear-down all and dye grey plastic parts and chassis black. Still have to test deandozing something before the green atomic aluminum full kit.

Caustic soda (lye) method to deanodize aluminum parts works awesome! It is fast and only takes a couple of minutes.

Dyed grey plastic black, rebuilt rear diff with intent aluminum cup and 100k oil, mounted the cf battery trays.

Original 30t 8mm bore pinion was too thick for mounting and would mesh beyond spur even pressing up against the motor mount.

Poseidon pointed me to sagacustomrc and I picked up 31t and 32t 8mm bore pinions (black).

Didn’t care for the motor mount so changed to a Poseidon mount. Threadlock on motor screws - had a feeling there was none... designing and ready to cut carbon fiber electronics plate.

Looking good can't wait ti see her all finished I'm actually deanodizing all the red parts on my outcast and gonna polish them up. I got a question do u think you can do the same to the can on the motor I know I can't submerge it in sodium hydroxide but if I concentrate the NaOH do u think it would work I got the leopard racing 58113 and think a polished can would look awesome with all the voltage hobbies parts and the polished stock arrma parts.

I don’t think I would try the deanodizing of the motor can myself until you do it. i am interested in seeing your results of yours for sure ;)

Went with the xt90 connection again for the cap pack like my Kraton.

How well does that work like that, I was always told that the caps should be as close to the esc as possible when wiring up cap packs.

Argh, the body work comes next - it is by far the most dreaded part of a project I think

Have to try and come up with a body mounting solution similar to manny... I don’t like the pvc rod method he used even though it is functional...

This project definitely progressed much faster than my silver tomahawk Kraton.

There was not as much design and customization for the x-maxx due to the chassis/shock towers/bulkheads integration...
