Ok heya people I am having some intermittent radio troubles. Most of the time my radio is working A-ok. However it doesn't have anything to do with whether I go to far away or am close up it likes to go to WOT and run off from me. Thank god I have some thick ass bumpers on my truck. Today alone I ran into two fences and two curbs as well as a huge post in my garage. I am confused here. Just replaced the batts in my transmitter and have a fresh charge on the RX Pack. Any thoughts??

Could be a couple of things. Check the antanae for breaks. U can try replacng the crystals. Maybe u are getting a cross signal from something nearby. Or ur reciever is shot.

Do you know if placing antenna parts around aluminum at all will cause any of what I have described. This is the first time I have run the car with an aluminum upper radio tray and well I am just thinking that might be it. I plan on replacing the xtals tomorrow and maybe even swapping the receiver out tomorrow. Thx for the help.

It's possible that the aluminum is causing an interference. Hopefully that is the problem. Good luck.

The aluminum could definitely be a part of the problem. Any metal to metal connection that is not snug, under heavy vibration (ie when the engine is running) could cause glitching in the servo (ie uncommanded WOT or uncommanded turns). Loose or broken connections (ie plugs not snug, crystals not snug, wires rubbed through making contact with other wires or metal objects) can all lead to what you describe. You may want to give all of your servos, battery pack, and receiver a good once over to make certain you have good connectivity and that all wires are still covered properly by their respective tubing.
