So... are you watching ANY auto racing then?

I like to watch monster truck racing, and I'll catch an MX race once an a while but thats about it. I use to like the lawn mower races but I don't see them anymore.

Yeah, MT is awesome stuff for sure  I'm not much into anything with only 2 wheels. I'll keep MX on if I catch it but I don't really follow it.

So Josh, did you hear the little blurb in the pre-race that there's a plan in the works for an American-based, American-driver Formula 1 team next year? I wonder who'll power it. I wonder if Chevrolet has decided to dive in....

Oh, and did you see that Jeff's in 2nd right now? Should be leading soon.

Yes I did buddy! I actually heard that yesterday as well. Rumor is A.J. might be in the seat. I didn't hear that it was supposed to be American powered though... did you specifically hear that? I know I heard American-based for sure. I honestly don't think Chevy would or even could enter F1 right now. Way too expensive considering their financial position. If it was going to be american-powered the only company with the means to do it that might be able to do it is Ford, but that's just a guess. I don't even know that I'd put my money on Chevy if it was a GM company. Honestly, I'd think if it was a GM line it would be Cadillac.

I'm pullin for Greg but I got Gordon on my fantasy team this week so it's all good. Jaime's got brake issues so he's gonna be in and out of the pits during this yellow. He'll restart 15th but he's plenty faster than the last 6 or so in front of him.. especially with over 30 laps to go. I'm hoping for a top 10 here, thought it would be a considerably better day but this is a good run.

...and people say Fontana is boring. I don't know about you guys but that was a great race. Those two battled for thirty somethin' laps. That's good stuff.

I got into that one..usually i don't at tracks like that, but I watched all but the 1st 38 laps.

I turned it back on just in time to see Matt beat Jeff out of the pits. I though he had him at one point but the tires gave up....The finish was a lot better than last weeks!

Usually it's a runaway, but that was good. Jeff laid into as best he could, but just didn't have the equipment to get Matt. But it was a good, clean race and a pretty decent finish. I'm good with Jeff taking 2nd. He needs to really be consistent plus I think he'll get a few wins this season. I knew that once I saw that he changed his base body color to black. Black is always fast!!!!

I agree. I like the black base better as well.

5 weeks and counting boys. I'm goin' to Martinsville!!! :D :thumbup:

Martinsville and Bristol are my two favorite tracks. I have been to both many times, they were always my favorite tracks to go to. Theres nothing better than a short track bumpin and bangin race that puts the outcome more in the drivers hands. But I just don't think it's gonna be the same anymore with these choads of today cars.

We'll be sittin 11 rows up in turn 4. Should be good and loud. These seats should be similar to where we sat at Darlington in '06. Those we're really good seats too. Not sure if we'll go to the truck race or not. I'm sure we can just walk up to that if we decide to. I'm glad we'll be on the exit of the corner because you get a better angle of the entry. Can't wait!

I like the old Bristol better.. IMO it was the Monaco of Nascar.. not quite the same with the new layout. Still good racing but not the same.

When I went there we sat in the same area, good seats...There all good seats in Martinsville, plus I got to watch Jeff win!

If you ever get the chance the night race at Bristol is just insane!

It was a great few final laps for sure. I am not a Gordon or Kenseth fan... but at least it was an good finish. I was quietly opptimistic about Jr getting a top 10 or 15... until his motor blew up. Looks like it will be a long season for the 88 bunch. Jamie had a great car until the break issues... I still look for great things from that team this year. With Roush having to drop to 4 cars next year... Jamie is going to make sure he is not the odd man out.

This should be an interesting race. A lot of the cars that qualified well were considerably slower in final practice and a lot of the cars that didn't qualify very well at all looked really strong in practice. Jaime starts frickin' 40th but he was 7th quick in practice 3.

Please, oh please powers that be... do not let this dork represent the U.S. on racing's biggest stage.

i don't think i'd be able to watch f1 anymore if they let busch represent the u.s. lol

If he gets an F1 ride (which I'm thinking is near impossible) I wouldn't watch it again...

If he gets an IRL ride, I'd be ecstatic because I never watch IRL and I won't have to watch his whining ass every Sunday....

I dont' think he'd get an F1 ride either. F1 is extremely political and he does not carry the type of persona that fits the sport...at least in the image that the FIA wants people to see it as.

I wouldn't mind seeing him in IRL. I'm actually looking forward to following the IRL season as it progresses as more of a balance between road and oval racing. I think he would be really successful over there actually. Hell, the guy will be successful in anything. I personally don't want to see him in particular as the face of the U.S.
