Hey everyone, here's the plan: I have a machining background and I am planning on building a 48-inch wheelbase r/c dragster with a 2.3 cubic inch chain saw engine. This thing is going to HAUL and I estimate it will only weigh about 15lbs... go-kart clutch, #35 chain and sprocket, 1/2" thick axle, tmaxx slick tires, 1/4" aluminum plate chassis....
My question to you experienced r/c guys is this: Do you think this
2.3 cubic inch engine (2-stroke, spark plug ignition from the on-
board "coil", carburator with idle/low end/high end mixture screws) will run on 20% nitromethane (or any nitro blend for that matter)? Do you think it will run REALLY well? Do you think it will melt the motor? Do you think it will EXPLODE?!?!
It runs great on the gasoline/oil mix that it's meant for, but being
an NHRA fanatic, I MUST get the sound, smell, and power from this dragster that only nitromethane can provide...
If any of you have any ideas on this plan of mine, PLEASE let me
know!!!
Thanks a million!
