Hey guys,

I'm relatively new to nitro powered RC cars. I got a car a few years ago and used it regularly but I had to put it away when I moved. I came across it the other day and tried to fire it up. I have the Traxxas Nitro 4- tec 2.5 (the purple car body). I just have a few questions:

1. I know I have to prime the engine because it has been so long but I can't seem to get the gas to pull through the tube to the carburetor. How can I get the gas to move through the tube into the carburetor?

2. I'm using an Ez start to start the engine. I have been doing a little research on the Ez start to see why its not heating the glow plug and I came across threads telling people to get a glow igniter. What glow igniters do you guys recommend?

Thanks for the help,

AB

try blocking the pipe for the exhaust with your finger then giving it a few pulls, as for glow igniters it heats up like a coil in the glow plug and ignites the fuel (i think I'm only new to this sport but yeah)

I just get fuel going into the exhaust not the carburetor. haha the exact opposite. i have some ideas i'll try later. I found some good info on the forum so far that I think will help.

I may also have to pick up a few new parts

The carb may need cleaning since it sat for while. Have you had the fuel lines off and maybe put them on wrong,i.e. the pressure line side of the tank to the carb and the feed side to the pipe? Just asking,it happens.

For an iginter, I like a rechargeable with a meter. I'm using a Dynamite myself.

I probably need to clean it. How should I go about that?

And I didn't mess with the hoses. If i ever unplugged one I made sure to plug it back to what I unplugged it from. I really haven't messed with the factory settings. It has just been sitting for a 1+

the only way you would get fuel into the carb is if your engine is sealed correctly, and has compression, check all bolts and make sure they are tight, also you can blow air from your mouth and feel if any air is comming out, if thee is put some engine silicone over it you can get it from walmart for like 5 bux
