Hey, I'm new to nitro r/c, i just got a associated ntc3, and i was reading about maintenance after each session like after oil etc, and i was wondering , when you remove the glow plug for whatever reason, do you have to replace the gasket?, it is never mentioned

also i have watched several videos on youtube about the break in process, even the offical "traxxas" videos (i know i dont have a traxxas, but it should be the same right?) and they seem to agree with the new "heat cycle" method of engine break in, however, in the article stickied on this fourm, it keeps mentioning "O.S." engines, first of all what is an os engine, and does the heat cycle break in process only apply to them and not say my stock motor that is on my ntc3?

any other tips i should know would also be appreciated

thanks

simple answer ....No. You replace the plug if it is no good .as for the rest for that specific car, i dont know , the pros should be here soon ....:)

Whenever you buy a new plug, it will come with a new copper gasket unless the plug is a turbo type.

In XRC Magazine, they do a great article on the heat cycle method done by AdamDrake himself. He uses a Losi 8ight buggy RTR. Very simple and easy to follow.

If you do the Traxxas method, which I have done it hould be fine since it is very common on how mot do their breaking in of a new engine. Just make sure you use ARO after each session.

The "OS engine" they talk about is a brand. OS is a maker of engines.

About the only time you should have to replace the copper washer is when it literally looks like a bowl with a hole in it.
