The cheapest thing your gonna find that both good quality and even close to that price range would be maybe an OFNA Ultra LX2 or OFNA Hyper 7 buggy or maybe something along the lines of a 2WD Rustler Stadium Truck. At least those are some of the cheaper "good" kits I can think of. The buggies are both right at $300 and the Rustler is about $325

Check Craigslist for some good deals on any traxxas, tmaxx or revo recommended. Also keep an eye out for the hpi savage. I've never owned one but I have heard they are the most durable. Oh, and good luck :) This is the best hobby.

I could do 300 and what r the speeds on these rc cars? What is a good scale to go with I see all different sizes?

The traxxas rustler can go 35 stock and about 70 with a Lipo
I would recommend 1/10 or 1/8 scale

The rustler was my first car lots of fun!

Most nitro cars are 1/10 and how fast it goes will depend on the gearing. Probably 40mph from the factory but you can go up on the gearing and get them going 50 or more. Are you wanting a car for running around in parking lots or do you want something you can run in the dirt, gravel, yard, ????

The 2 buggies I listed are both 1/8 scale. I would highly discourage you from buying used for your first kit as used kits usually have problems that you have to solve to get it to run properly. Its a huge pain for someone new in the hobby. The buggies will do fine onroad with street tires and they will probably be ok at your park as long as your not running them through grass. buggies dont have the ground clearance for glass unless its real short. You can find those buggies on www.nitrohouse.com and you can also look around at www.amainhobbies.com also. Those are my 2 main sites I use.

and just as a side note the Rustler VXL will not do 70+MPH without heavy modification. Traxxas's 70+ claims arent quite accurate as a lot of manufacturer claims arent where there isnt some sort of standard to measure by. I believe my Rusty topped out at 58MPH with 76/28 gearing + lipo + Jaco Foams for more rollout. Dont be fooled though 58MPH is pretty freakin fast for a 1/10 scale truck.

With the budget you're asking for, you'll probably do best looking on Craigslist.com in your area for a used HPI Savage X. It will be dependent, durable and be decent in parking lots but will eat up parks and short grass open areas. Since it is your first rc you want something with lots of parts support (you'll go through lots of parts being a newbie driver). It's also extremely bashable and very forgiving. Now be warned, if you are looking on Craigslist you are buying a used rig. You are gonna need to check it through first before purchase. Read first https://www.rcnitrotalk.com/forum/showthread.php?t=68224 , and then this https://www.rcnitrotalk.com/forum/showthread.php?t=87194. Hope this helped! And most importantly, HAVE FUN!!! :D

Look for a savage or an associated MGT. Even if it don't have a motor. Pick one up new on ebay for cheap.

What about kyosho dbx 2.0

I have Kyosho VoneR cars and no one makes a better car than Kyosho BUT I don't really like the DBX. It looks like it's made cheap. I just sold a Kyosho .28 engine and I didn't like it at all. And the design of the motor mounts on that DBX will require you to buy another Kyosho engine because they are a 3 bolt triangle pattern instead of a 4 bolt parallel mount like all other engines have. I have 2 Ofna buggies. I have a lx one and the other a hyper 8 and I am really impressed with the quality of both and glad I bought them because they run and perform great. If you are going to get a buggy and you have the $$$, that is the one I'd get. DO NOT.....(do you see DO NOT?) DO NOT buy a used one from anyone! If you do, you might wish you hadn't done that because you are buying something that you have no idea of what someone else has done to it and you just might end up spending enough money on it that you could have bought a new one.

For my first car would it be a good car cuz I like the price of since its my first and I wana see if I enjoy the hobby

Or the traxxas nitro sport

Kyosho generally makes good kits but I dont have any experience with that kit. For basically the same price you can get an OFNA Ultra LX2 HERE. Now those along with the Hyper 7's are great bashers. I mean at least I know first hand they are quality bashers.

As for the Nitro Sport, Its ok if you want to get into a 1/10 scale 2WD Stadium Truck instead of an 1/8 scale 4WD buggy but instead of getting the Nitro Sport I would suggest getting the Rustler. Same kit just has more quality parts on it like a full aluminum chassis plate. Its your call though :)

I'm intreatd in the ofna one but that link u gave me is on backorder. How long back order take?
