Question about wheels

The RC10 wheels fit over the axle pin and the pede wheels use a hex....Here is the question. If I remove the hex hub from the pede would the RC10 wheel fit on the axle pin? Has anybody tried this?

I've went the other way, using a hex on a rc10, so it should work....
