I was wondering about taking a Nitro RC in the sand i have a CEN Magnum NX and i just wanted to know is it safe to run it in sand? Because a buddy of mine said that i could damage the gears. I know i need to get some paddle tires but i was wondering if i could damage my truck by driving it in the sand.

i did and mine was fine i have a 1/10 truck... you get sand in the ushall places like on the suspention springs and abit on the edges of the chasssis plate but just make sure everything is tightly sealed and your running it with the shell on and it should be all good

You should probably get son outerwear filters for your air filter and your shocks. Also put Jew soothes on the filter so there's no risk of sand reaching the engine. The gears will probably be fine if you have a good gear mesh I would think but I've only run my buggy in sand once and it was with a pre filter and balloons on the shocks

I have ran my nitros though just about every environment and weather and they all run fine after just do a cleaning at the end of the day. in my opinion the worst terrain was small gravel because they sometimes get stuck in places that stop steering and I have had a pebble lock up my rear wheels once.. a 2 stage filter is defintly a good idea for the sandy stuff so you have that added protection.. just make sure it is on there good because I had a filter fall off and it took me not even a full minute to get to my rig and shut it off and I had to open it up and clean everything out before I could run it again.
