ok, another pullstart problem. Here's the scenario...

If I take the glowplug out and pull the PS it cranks the engine just fine

When I reinstall the plug and yank on the PS it doesn't always pull... sometimes it like misses or something when there is restriction.

I don't think there is anything wrong with the PS. I'm aware of a thing called a one-way bearing although I've never pulled the back off to find it.

Is my one-way bad?

Sounds like the one-way is slipping. My LST does the same thing on occasion. You may just need to clean the one-way. I use denatured alcohol then blow it off with an air compressor.

Yeah my Maxx does that on occasion also, Sound like its time to clean it :)

Yes that is the same thing that happen to me with my Savage. and when i took it to the hobby shop to get worked on that was the first thing they told me that was wrong with it ...so i took home and clean it and no 1 pull and the car starts right up .....:)

Don't forget to clean out your pullstart as well as thje one way!

It's the one-way slipping. With the plug in, there's more resistence since there's compression. The one-way is grabbing good enough to turn it over without the compression.

Take it apart and clean it. You should be able to get more life out of it.

Hey Lessen, sounds like your one-way is slipping. Time to clean it!!!!!

echo...echo.....echo.....echo......

Just a random guess here, But In my very own opinion, Id say its the one way bearing.. Id also suggest cleaning it... Dont know if anyone else told ya that, just thought Id suggest it...lol (Ok I'm a dumb ass..lol)

hey, so after I asked about this I had to run up to my LHS. While I was there I asked about this too. so I was thinking I need to clean my one way. Whadaya think about that? Hopefully it's just cuz it's dirty, I really don't wanna have to buy something else. Thanks fellas!

Maybe you should check the backplate while the pull start is off, and clean the shaft the oneway rides on?

Anyone think it might be the one way bearing???? :trashed:

Well, since none of these Dorks mentioned it, I thought it was time to give you some intelligent information. Clean the one way bearing and shaft. If that doesn't help, clean the one way bearing and the shaft.

I knew it was only a matter of time before you started giving poopy advice, Rolex. Obviously you have overlooked the possibility that the one-way bearing and shaft need to be cleaned. DUH!!!

I think both you you have still not addressed the issue here... its the one-way and the shaft... clean them, and oil them. Gosh, no one here knows anything!
