Nice Corrado! Seems like you're on top of things. I will look into changing the screw out as you said. As far as the guy machining those parts for you, that's awesome... let me know how they look when you get them, I may just order up some myself!

Have you sorted out your broken front-brace yet, I need one myself? I think an alloy version would be preferable to the CF one here. The Swift is not overweight by any means so a few extra grammes on the front-brace won't matter.
 
You crack yours too niggle? You guys are nuts... I have broken parts on this thing beating the hell out of it, but not the brace yet... how the hell are you doing that?

I broke mine (now Niggles) by hitting an 8 inch high kerb at WOT, that certainly was the end of that!!!!
It's a bit flimsy though anyway!

Mr Niggle...... what ever is wrong with that lovely alloy one I made for you???? :arrr:

Okay, so THAT's what it takes to break them... well, that's something that hopefully I won't be doing any time soon. I am definitely interested in hop up parts for the Swift though... if the pro version parts aren't available soon, I'm all about what Corrado is looking into.

It's far too good for a humble Swift / I'm saving it for my Fred Flinstone RC car project / I took it to Southport and someone knicked it *

actually my lhs that deals swift parts is having that piece made up. i replaced mine with a stock one for now, untill they get the new one in. ill be making a print for these as well though. basically anything i find to be weak, ill see if this guy will make a replacement for. i have a rough sketch of the front shock tower now, i want to make a nice copy to scan and send him. we will see how this first part goes.

Took my swift out yesterday at my local BMX Track. done a great jump, but landed upside down, :shrug:

hello smiffy and niggle, not far from you down here in suffolk, had mine since february, spend more time repairing it than i do playing with it as i keep racing it around car parks and crashing, changes so far i use tornado 25%, and mcCoy mc-9 glow plug,a high tech servo hs-654mg, replaced front shock tower twice, 1 suspension mounting, knuckle arm,and a chrome cvj bone, very impressed with the car cannot really moan about it considering the abuse that i give it. :spit:
 
hehe i havent crashed mine yet, well no enough to break, it I'm ether a good driver, lucky, or just dont push it that hard, altho i came very close to landing my buggy in the pond, while i was tuning it.
 
I am willing to bet it's because you don't drive it hard enough... has nothing to do with driver skill :)
 
i have been hearing from many people on other forums, about the swift, and everyone says that the matierals used in the swift are very bad, and to stay clear, bad engine, poor carbon fiber grade, and so on. personally i disgree, anyone got any comments on this?

If by other forums you mean the maxbashing forums then ignore them; I've never come across a bigger bunch of bigots, they refuse to believe that you can have fun with a buggy that costs less than £600. The moderator there is some kind of message-Nazi; he'll delete your posts if you don't use a black font for your message bodies and sensor anything that you wouldn't expect a nursery school teacher to repeat in church. Remember that the maxbashing forums are supported by a magazine which in turn is supported by advertising revenue - hardly independent.

Yeah, the Swift is not perfect by any means. The current diff outdrives are too soft but harder ones are on the way, the carbon fibre on my car seems OK but I would prefer an alloy front brace. My engine seemed to suffer from overheating as reported by other Swift owners but just recently it has been behaving itself. You've got to bear in mind that the engine is just a basic three-port, it's probably no worse than the Force 4-port or the SX21 fitted to other low-price buggies.

The first generation Hot Bodies Lightning and the early GS Storms had their share of problems but they are generally respected now. The Swift will get there as long as PRP keep trying.
 
Yeah, I have had a few issues with the materials, but many buggies out there are the same way. There should have been more testing in the buggy before release for sure, that is clear as day, but it isn't all that bad if you do the right things. I agree the Mugen has better composites, but then again, you are paying more than twice for that thing. For the money, this can't be beat... especially considering the radio that comes with it. I haven't had any issues so far with the carbon brace... I beat the crap out of my car and have only had an issue with the pivot ball knuckle, the outdrives, and the bones. All the rest is expected when you drive them hard.
 
everything you lot are saying is my point also. it may not be perfect but what you get for the money, it good.

if you are a major racer then a mugan or a hyper 7 is always going to win but then again they would also be paying 600+ for the kit. swift as it's place and a bargan it is. for the normal racer or fun, is just that.
 
Hey all SWIFT owners,I've had one for about 3 months now and have not :) had too many trbls, just had to rebuild the rear diff and shim it,works great now. :cheers:
Thanks to this thread!!!Anyway...I just installed a Jammin JP-1 #10055 Pipe and header on the stock motor and .....S W E E T.....runs much better, great from low end to high end. I can't believe the difference,instance response.W O W...Anyone else tried this pipe yet???
 
Yeah, I just switched to the Jammin JP-1, and its by far the best pipe I have ever used.. I never ran it on the stock Swift motor cause I dumped off the motor before I took the car, but makes big power on my NovaRossi.. When I had a Swift and ran the stock pipe I bent the stinger pretty easy.. The Swift and the stock pipe are both gone now, but that Jammin pipe rocks and is the best pipe to have out of the bunch available..
 
Yeah, I have heard nothing but good things about the Jammin pipe. That is definitely going to be mated up to my WS7-II.
 
Well i spoke too soon...took a bad cart wheel today and broke the front lower suspension brace( hinge pin). Anyword on a better replacement????alum or ti or s/thing better than Plastic!!! :shrug:
