How do I find what props I should use with a Rimfire35-36 1500kV brushless outrunner. I have the paperwork and it does not specify. Any help will be appreciated.

.15 size aircraft SIG Klipper. Very old kit, not sure of cell count the speed control says 2 to 4 cells.

Tower Hobbies says for that motor
  • Propeller: 10 x 7 - 11 x 7
Then there is this

Shown are a few of the recommended electric props. Due to the large range of propellers and the constant addition of new sizes, visit our web sites at www.electrifl y.com and www.greatplanes.com for the most up-to date listing of electric type props. APCQ0945 9×4.5 Electric APCQ4129 11×8 Electric APCQ4118 9×6 Electric APCQ4130 12×6 Electric APCQ4120 10×5 Electric APCQ4136 12×10 Electric APCQ4123 10×7 Electric APCQ3065 13×6.5 Electric APCQ1055 11×5.5 Electric APCQ4022 18×10 Electric APCQ4128 11×7 Electric

Thank you for you reply, but my motor is not on that paperwork. Mine is GPGM4625, the paper that came with covers several motors in the 35-36 range. It gives a list of props but doesn't specify which ones are for which motors. Also the two links are dead Greatplanes doesn't exist any more

Rimfire 35-36-1500 Outrunner

  • Trainer & Sport Performance Weight Range: 5.5-7.4lb
  • Aerobatic & High Speed Performance Weight Range: 3.7-5.5lb
  • Propeller: 9x6E-12x6E
In general if you have a slow plane use coarser pitch props and finer pitches for faster ones.
Start with a smaller diameter and increases it while monitoring amp draw and motor and battery temps.
Find what other people are using on the plane your want to fly.

Props are not an exact science and the best one greatly changes depending on what you are flying and how you want it to fly.

Thank you. Unfortunately, almost no one has the plane I want to fly it's been out of production for 30 years.
