Went to the LHS today for some paint when I realized they actually had everything I want to get the look I'm goin for here. The only thing they didn't have was the body so I'll just have to order than at some point. After all of the r/c goodies I stopped in to a craft store from some dye and spray paint.

Charlie, I'm goin for the pastel look. I'll probably use some bolder shades as well but mainly as accents. A much more 'classical' look IMO. I just picked up the body today from my other LHS so I'm all set... oh yeah, except for the truck itself Shipping parcel post so it may not be until the middle of next week. I thought maybe today since it's coming from IL.

When my 5b SS came in the mail from Woodie, I was so excited. My mom insisted on snapping pictures as I was opening the box when I got home from out of town. I'm still a lil embarrassed to post them online cuz I'm in my Pj's with a grin from here to dallas, but the pictures are nice to have. It will be great to get a picture of the look on her face when you give it to her. Are you letting her see the build process or are you just going to surprise her with the finished product. I've been telling my girlfriend that I was going to build her a pink one since before you ever started this one, so now that I've been telling her about your build, she's really excited.

Heck yeah Charlie, get her to join in the fun! I'm getting her input with the build, especially the body. Id needs to express her tastes so it's important to get her opinion. We have been shopping for the baby and she was realy liking chocolate brown with pink so I'm decided I'm going to incorporate some brown into the color scheme.. probably the bed area and window trim can be a chocolate brown... maybe I can replicate that faux wood look that I've seen NCNitro and Rolex do.. just in darker tones. She would REALLY like that.

Got the truck today. This thing is in pretty darn nice condition. it's not even that dirty! Of course I'll want to do some general maintanence such as rebuilding the shocks and checking on wiring. I'll be switching all the battery connectors over to Deans Ultra. Actually, I'll be tearing the wrap off of all 4 of the Venom packs because all of them have cuts in the silicon just outside of the pack. I'm just gonna rewire the packs and wrap 'em back up.

Found some pink shock springs too Wifes idea... see.. the interest is building

You should wrap the batteries in pink too.....lol that might be going a little overboard though. Great project man, can't wait to see it finished!

Ha! yeah, that would definitly be overdoing it. I may want to use those packs for one of my cars too so they need to stay flexible

Here's the truck as I received it. It's pretty nice. It has the wheely bar but it's not installed right now. It's got what looks to be brand new aluminum bumpers which I'm gonna take off in favor of the chrome RPM parts I purchased. I'm gonna spray the rollcage here in a couple minutes and I just finished dying the A-arms.

got the suspension all installed. The truck came with the front end already upgraded to grey plastic. That looks a lot better with the pink so I went ahead and replaced the rear black bulks and skid with grey to keep the scheme going. I have 3 pair of Losi pink springs but 1 pair is sill on b/o at AMain so I'm waiting on that before I can get her standing again.
