I painted a body for my buggy with the spaz stix color change paint, it looked absolutely amazing, until i ran it, it fell off in big patches, and just generally fell apart. I washed the body good before i started painting, and i did it in multiple thin coats. then backed it with spaz stix black. anyone know what i did wrong? i know spazstix sells the can of pre-prep stuff. did I need to use that before i began painting? any help is appreciated!

I know the color change that I did from Spazstix suggested a different backer than the spazstix black. So I used a Faskolor black and it worked slick. no probs yet. I dont use that pre-pre poop. I think its just to get more dough. Soap and water seems to work just fine.

I painted without the prep stuff from Spaz and I had the same problem with the paint coming off easily. Started using the prep stuff and allproblems solved. It does nto take more than 1-2 light coats of the prep stuff to make it works. Needs to dry real good, though, before you paint.

ok ill keep that in mind if i decide to use it again, thanx revo rancher!

so the spaztick back doesn't work right and cause's runs? cause i just ordered some with the backer and if it doesn't work right I'm gonna be pissed.

I think the backer is the most important thing when it comes to the chipping and flaking off part. I've never had any problems with mine, and I dont use that prep stuff, I just back it with something other than the spaz black.

Oddly enough the Spaz black backer paint says not to use it for teh chrome paint. Read the back of the can before you buy it. You can go to their website and see what they do recommend. The site has more details. If you use the backer the chrome will go from a bright chrome look to a brushed stainless steel look. I know, I did it twice, doHHHH!!!!

I just sprayed a body for my buddy buggyracer and it went perfect, you need to let it dry for a lil bit and don't put it on in thich coats or it will run.

I didn't read the above posts cause I don't have the patients today.
You have to lightly scuff the inside of the body with a scuff pad or very light sand paper. like 1000.
Then Spazsticks prep, about 4 dry coats, then paint.
