just bought a nova cooling head for my mgt 8.0 and wen fitted its not running right keeps stalling and running up and down on its own so i put th eold head back on and now its ok any ideas???

The head button was not sealing for some reason, figure out why and tell us for the next person who may run into the same issue.

no gasket shim . nor does the stock head have one found a leak front bearing will this cause it ?? should there be a shim gasket???

the head button was a real tight fit to the sleave??

Some fuel seapage is normal from the front bearing, especially if the tune is rich.
Double check that the shims are not stuck to the sleeve or on the button. Sometimes they are the same color as the head button, you won't notice them if you don't know what to look for.
if it runs fine with the stock head, then the bearing is not your issue.
Did you buy this engine new or was it used? How much use does it have? I really don't care much for Associated engines, they are usually made by Thunder Tiger. They make terrible land r/c engines.
Don't waste another dime on that engine. Run it til it won't run anymore and throw it away. Buy an LRP .30 for it. That is not made by Thunder Tiger even though Associated/LRP distributes them.

I've done a air test on it today and its leaking air through that bearing to its brand new only just ran it in its on its 12th tank of byron 25 .. its leaking quite bad when i blow i can see it and hear it coming from that bearing will this be the problem??

there is no shim or gasket

Not sure if that's your issue, but the parts explosion for the 8.0 definitely shows a head shim for that engine:

Comes in this gasket/seal kit:

Unfortunately, you voided your warranty. Those bearings are one of the many reasons I do not like T.T. engines. All of the ones I've seen leak bad.
Like I said, if it runs fine don't sweat it. Sometimes bearings seal up after breakin. There is a ton pf compression and it is probably rich because it is new. Alll that pressure has to go somewhere.
