i just put a new muffler on my car and whenever i decelerate my engine off a straightaway or high rpms it will stall and drift to a stop.

you may have to adjust the low needle/idle needle. the problem might be that your carb isnt open enough when the throttle is in neutral. so give them (one at a time) a little turn in

Check your temps too (the high temps could be making it stall). Also, just checking but did you retune after the new exaust pipe was put on? Does it always do that, even when you first start it up?

You may want to tweak you HSN. This sounds like you are running a bit too lean.
