I have run about 2 gallons through my P5 with a 3 stage Motor saver as the air filter (complete cleaning after every day and replacement of the outer filter each day), plug RB #6, Nov. Break-in procedure followed, and temps always in the 210-230 range even after a 30 min. main.

I was in the later part of a 20 minute A-main this last weekend when all of the sudden the engine started running like crap.....checked the CB bearings, clutch shoes for wear and found everything in good shape. Checked the glow plug and it was fine.

Pulled the motor apart and the piston is cracked!!!! All the engine parts are in pristine condition and I noted no other damage. I have e-mailed and called Nov. about this problem and had several other mech. look at it and everyone says that is a manfacturing defect. So does anyone know how I can get a hold of Nov. and get a replacement engine for my faulty one? I have sent e-mails 3 times a day and called & left messages but have gotten no reply.

Any advice on what to do would be greatly appreciated.

TIA!

Engine still runs just like crap (temps fly up to 280) and has no power......

first off, stop running the engine.

then use this contact info, jim hottinger is the US importer of all novarossi engines, he is your warrentee claim contact.

So this is clearly a warranty issue then right. I thankfully have extra engines but to have one go poof so quickly was rather unpleasant to say the least......either way thanks for the contact information
