ok, so I don't even know if such a part exists but I would like to find a threaded push rod that is right hand threaded on one end and left hand threaded on the other.

I want to use it to connect my two carbs together (twin engine setup). Currently, the rod is threaded only one way. The problem is that it doesn't give me the ability to fine tune the distance between the two carbs. since it's only threaded one way I have to turn one rod end completely around one rotation so that it can still connect to the carb. Whichever way I turn it it's either a tad too long or a tad too short. having reverse threads on one end would allow me to fine tune the distance much better. Anybody know of such a part or possibly have a better idea?

A turnbuckle works that way, but I don't know if you can get the right size. Tie rods work the same way. Find the right sized tie rod, and you'll have what you need. If it's too long, you can cut it and solder it to length.

Exactly! Damn, I thought the Mini-T turnbuckle would work but it's too short. Hmmm, looks like I got some research to do. I was also thinking about that setup that Kyosho's got on the new Giga Crusher twin engine truck. It's got a special bellcrack that allows for two seperate carb rods. I could probably rig something like that.

why not use a 1/8 buggy brake setup to run each carb individually. they are indepentantly adjustable by threading them in and out. sounds like the way your describing the way kyosho did thiers. i know you can buy the mayhems throttle/brake setup under the dynamite name for about $10 (i got one for my swift). that should give you all the parts you need, and it convieniently has ball cups on the ends of the rods and the adjusters are on the outside of the bellcrank.

you can just add a longer rod for the far motor if needed.

Thanks corrado, I was thinking of the same thing. The Kyosho Giga Force has a throttle system like that. I'm gonna go to the LHS today and get stuff to rig it like that.

that's a good idea too Eddy. I just got back from my LHS. I'm gonna try using two 90 degree belcranks, one of top of the other. I'll connect the two via a screw through one set of holes then have one rod from each crank going to either carb. This will eliminate the problem of one idle setting affecting the other but If I still need to fine tune I'll go with what you suggested. Thanks!
