Probably one of the worst days of my life

I found out today that my daughter has to go in for surgery on friday to repair the damage she suffered from a sparkler wednesday evening, i just ask you to keep her in your thoughts and prayers.

To all parents please PLEASE use extreme caution with sparklers around your children, from one concerned parent to another i would hate for your child to have to endure the pain and recovery from a surgery.

P.S. shes going to be 3 in august

she was playing with a sparkler on wednesday, doing what a normal kid would do with them, spinning it around and after a series of unfortunate events she ended up getting 3rd and 4th degree burns on her neck and shoulder

Most states are about to make sparklers and other non-explosive devices legal. Just another example why we don't need ANY amateur fireworks.
The poor little thing. She's young enough to heal quickly, and young enough to forget.

Hope she goes through ok . My stepson . 4 at the time was playin with them 4 at the time and put it on the back of my lower leg while runnin around with it . Serious pain melted my skin and put a groove in it . They should be banned all together people dont realise how hot they get .

Sometimes I wonder how I ever survived my childhood. We used to get those 1/2" diameter 3' long sparklers when I was a kid in Hawaii and sword fought with them while they were lit. I won't even get into what used to do with firecrackers.
