Its gona blow the SC10 out the water.......... I hope......

Don't know about that, working at a race track I can tell you those race trucks of thiers are brittle! And god forbid it's got the same arms as a xxxt, otherwise I better stock up!

i got the new Horizon catalog and the car you are speaking of is in their i believe. i think its around $650, i will take a look next time i need to use the bath room again.

opps sorry for false info , i was thinking of the 8IGHT-T ,they just made it an RTR kit.

I hope it's better than the crawler, glad I didn't buy into that whole deal...

Really though, they seem to make some decent vehicles here and there but it's definitely hit and miss at times. I'm sticking with the Slash for now until the local scene starts picking up and a SCT series gets started up with the ROAR rules and everyone can race in the same class if they like as long as the dimensions and basic requirements are met....then we'll see about a SC10 or a Losi. Either way, once the Losi comes out, even if I do like it and have to have it, I'll be waiting at least a few weeks to hear the damage/carnage reports to identify the weak points.

I'm getting anxious to know what Losi has up their sleeve. 2 more days.

its about time they start releasing an SC truck. for forerunners in RC they sure do tend to wait things out anymore.

Its kinda good that they waited. Gives them a chance to see the pros and cons of the already released rigs, and build upon that. I think they dropped the ball so badly with the crawler, is they tried to go with a completely different concept and had to start from scratch. They got rigs to base off of now.

Thing is though, it doesn't do them much good if they don't take advantage of waiting. They waited forever to release the crawler and it still had obvious flaws that could have been fixed very easily. Hopefully they'll learn to be a little more on the ball with future releases, including this one.

1/10 Strike Short-Course Truck RTR
At a Glance

Even if you have never hit the track before, fun and exciting racing action can now be yours with the ready-to-run 1/10-Scale Strike Short Course Truck. The Strike SCT RTR is perfect for anyone who loves the thrill of RC racing, even newcomers. Its rugged body comes out over the wheels, allowing you to bump, nudge and aggressively race without tangling and flipping other vehicles or getting hung-up on curbs and obstacles.

The Strike SCT RTR features a water-resistant LiPo and NiMH battery compatible reversing electronic speed control (ESC). Capable of handling up to a 7.4V LiPo and an 8.4V NiMH, the ESC features ultra-low resistant EC3 power connectors and one-button setup for simple operation. The Strike SCT RTR also includes a Losi receiver and transmitter with interference-free Spektrum™ 2.4GHz DSM® technology.

The transmission in the Strike SCT RTR houses high-quality all-metal gears, full ball bearings and the adjustability of a slipper clutch with the strength and reliability that will stand up to the power and abuse expected of a short course truck for performance lap after lap. The Strike SCT RTR gets its muscle from a 12T 550-sized modified motor for amazing acceleration and top end speeds for high-flying jumps. The motor houses an internal cooling fan that keeps the operating temperatures low improving performance and motor life.

Keeping the Strike SCT RTR’s handling as scale as possible is an innovative chassis design. The Strike’s 12-turn 550 performance motor is mounted in line with the chassis and in front of the driveline, so it sits closer to the center of the vehicle. This keeps the center of gravity down, allowing for some scale body roll but much quicker cornering

The 1/10 Strike SCT RTR also features oversized captured ball ends and adjustable aluminum oil-filled shocks. The threaded adjusters on the shocks make tuning the suspension a breeze because no tools are required to adjust the vehicle for various types of terrain. The Strike SCT RTR achieves increased traction and acceleration thanks to a greater degree of toe-in at the rear of the vehicle. The toe-in is supplied at the rear pivot block, not the hub, making the design generate more traction than what the competition can offer.

The Strike SCT RTR also sports a strikingly detailed and decorated body, available in red and blue, for pure scale realism that will turn heads at the track. The wheels feature 12mm hexes and finish out in chrome to mimic the style of a full-scale off-road setup with the long-wear off-road tires providing ample traction on multiple surfaces. Scale front and rear bumpers help round out the package.

awwwww wtf? i am crushed now. i myself expected a lot more on this one! basic 550 motor, body is awful, funky rims,no style or attraction at all on this one:confused: just my thought. i have let a few brushless sc10's slide by to wait on this??? exscuse me while i bust myself in the head here

I am not thrilled with the specs myself but looks like a good starter unit. I would take one for free!!!

I really like the look of it. With the exception of the weird chassis wideners, i really like it. and RTR with a 2.4 ghz radio for $220? Thats awsome!!!

looks like it will kick the slash's but. and its only 229.00 so its in the same price range as the slash

i'm not digging it at all. oh well i guess i'll just have to beat on my slash some more.

It's still an rtr, which we all knew would be a far cry from any truck with a brushless setup. They probably stuck with the 12T motor to kind of keep it competitive with the Slash stock class, encouraging track owners to allow them in with the stock class, something most track owners will not do with the SC10. But I mean really, for $200 (for the bnd version), you're getting the rx installed which is normally $75 for an extra spektrum receiver, water resistant lipo ready esc, mid mount motor and tranny, ball ends instead of ball cups, all metal geared tranny, and adjustable shocks....for that price point, they have done extremely well. Now lets hope the durability is good and it doesn't handle like a dog, lol. I will admit though, I HATE that body, but I usually don't stick with stock bodies for long anyways.

Not what i was expecting

I do not like the chassis. it looks like a slash. it looks like a monster truck chassis. i dont think it will compete with the sc10, but will be a good match for the slash. looks more durable than a xxx though. I'm glad i didnt wait for it cause i sure would have been disapointed. but you never know. it may be awsome, but thats not my first impression.

I agree, I still don't think it will compete with the SC10, but it'll give the Slash a good run for its money as long as the parts can hold up.
