I just got a link to this video on you tube and thought I would share it with all of you, it shows how your credit card info can be stolen when some one just walks by you if you have the new type of credit cards that send out a signal through a micro chip on the card.

Yeah I had heard about that before. I never liked the idea and am very happy my bank does not issue them. Same technology that they use to protect stuff in stores from shoplifting. My apartment gave me a RF card for my car that opens the gate for me with never having to do a think but have the card in the car. So stealing the info from just walking by? Yeah I can believe that.

I've seen several articles about these types of credit cards and how easy they are to steal your information.

Best bet, call your credit card company / bank and have them send you a new credit card without the RF antenna built in. It's also been said you can place the credit card in a microwave for 2 seconds which should be long enough to damage the RF radio but not the card mag strip.

It's to easy for people to get your information with credit cards alone, such as the instance with Subway, broadcasting your information over radio waves seems like a really really bad idea.

Or an even better idea... use cash.
