possible broken diff?

alright, i finally got the truck started, went to take off, only the front wheels will move, the rears are locked up, and they still are, i mean i can't turn them with my hands at all ...then i loosened the skid plate, and i can move them by hand, but it still wont move,

and one more question...whats the easiest way to clean out a flooded engine?

Went i had flooded engine, i take off the glow plug and turn the engine(rotostart or pullstart) for a couple of cranks. then re-put the glowplug and fire it up...:yes:

It's possible a rock got into the case. Remove the skid plate and have a look-see through the little peek-a-boo window under the diff.

i did that , and when i turn one wheel, the other wheel doesn't move, so i think something came apart, or broke, to where the 2 sides of the diff arent touching eachother

The old (and I do mean old) savage diff case screws had a tendency to back out, which could cause your issue. Or, your spider gears fried inside the diff.

If you do end up needing a new diff, depending on what's shelled, going on ebay and getting an entire diff case/ring/pinion/bearings is much more cost effective than piecing together the parts at your LHS. You can usually get one for $23-$28 shipped.
