A couple of days ago I ported the sleeve to my TRX .15. Today I took the OS motor of my T Maxx and put the TRX back in. After I put it on I forgot that I lost the linkage to the .15 so I took the carb of the OS and put it on the .15. Before I tried to start it I was thinking to myself that this thing is going to blow up on me. So I took the eazy start put it on and not even 3 seconds and it fired right up. Tweaked the carb a little and I had my buddy hold it in the air. I gave it the gas then open it up, and I was happy. Nice stream line of smoke coming out the exhaust and when it was on the ground I am here to tell ya, balls to the wall. I never seen a .15 move as fast as this did. Before it was a pooch, now its a beast. I even got 1/8 scale Ofna Pirate rims and tires on it and it stayed with my buddys 2.5. I think if I put the factory tires and rims on I will be able to take him.

Just remember they run best before they blow.

I ported a TX .15 a while back. I must say it ran strong. The issue is, in the hands of someone like me that had never ported before it didn't las much more than 10 or so tanks before it took a dump. There are people that have gotten several gallons out of one after modding.

The OS carb is one of the best made. That in itself will increase the power noticeably.

Have fun with your new found power and let us know how long it lasts.

Good to hear! I got a couple engines coming to me and I'm going to try some porting my self. I hope I get the same results that you got. I only wish that they made a dyno for rc cars so that I can see what it really increases.

Thank you guys. Hopefully this will last because it was a perfect motor before I went messing with it. I got the idea out of a magazine, I would tell ya the name but it is in the sh!tter. I buddy had me take his sleeve out and wants me to port it. I told him that that was my first time and his will be the second. I told hime I wasn't reponsible and he said OK. Lets see what I can do to this. At first whe I ran it It wasn't going anywhere than I messed wit the carb. I agree Eddy it is a good carb, real easy to adjust.

How does porting reduce the life on an engine? Too much power? Weakend sleeve?

not forsure. I really didnt port mine. All I did was angled the the ports down besides the exhaust port. Then I angled the bottom part of the sleeve. Used a variable speed dremel andit only took about 20 min. After you angle them you buff the spots and then make sure you clean it with denat alcohol and wd 40.

I always wanted to give that a shot. I'm closer to getting the guts up now. I am also curiosu why the p/s or block wont last as long.

No longer rpm limited by lack of fuel, too much over - rev?

You should talk to msly. He has a ported TRX .15 and its a beast. I got to see it at the ECB last year. IIRC he had it professionaly done by someone. I don't remember who.

It probably depends on how you do it. Like FastEddy said, shaky hands make for shaky mod's. I myself shake like a heroin addict 3 days after a fix (i watch to many cop shows). I'm going to attempt a mod on my OS 15 CV-R(x) to try to get better power out of it. It's to weak for my maxx and I've been running it hard to have fun.

Maybe if I clean up the porting in it, it will require not so hard running to get decent speed and performance out of it.

It has 4 gallons run through it and still runs fine. The compression is ok. But I figure it's worth a shot before I drop another $140 on a new epic .18.

Is there anywhere I can find info on porting a pro .15 a friend of mine has an old one and I would just like to read about it.

Thanks for the link olds (thats a great link if you want to know about engine porting)
