Has anyone had success removing abetterinternet.aurora? I've gotten that STUPID MOFO SOB in the past before, but had to nuke the holy moly computer to get rid of it. I've tried the microsoft tool, spyware doctor, symantec tool, and
spybot, but to NO AVAIL! I CANNOT GET RID OF THIS SOB! I SWARE, IF I KNEW WHERE THE PEOPLE LIVED WHO CREATED IT, I'D FLY DOWN THERE AND GIVE THEM ONE MAJOR ASS-KICKING!

Well, I finally managed to remove it, I tried microsoft anti-spyware, the symantec too, ewido security suite, spyware doctor, spybot, and Xoftspy....NONE of those worked....

So I decided to go to those DIRTY-ASS MOFO'S website to write them a real nice letter saying that if they don't remove it, I'm filing a class-action lawsuit, and charging them w/ vandalization of govt. property (my laptop is one my dad got from his work at the pentagon) and of course a few other little nice, choice words in there as well....

Well, I go to their site and I see a big "uninstall" icon, so I figure, "o wut the fiddlesticks, I've tried everything else..." so I download their fuckin tool and AMAZINGLY
it removed it! I CANNOT BELIEVE THOSE STUPID-ASS MOFOS PUT A WORKING THING ON THEIR SITE! well of course I was skeptical, so I ran scans w/ all of the aforementioned programs and none of them detected it...so I figure, well, maybe it hadn't intialized itself yet, so I go and use IE, and I use it for about 30 mins (I would've gotten about 20 of those aurora messages by now normally) still nothing....I kinda have a feeling that it will come back here in a few days but we'll see....

For those of you who have had this dirty little SOB, you can VERY MUCH understand why I am SSSSOOO fiddlesticking MAD! It constantly changes its name and poop every 10 secs so you can delete it and it'll come right back, it even runs in windows safe mode, ect...and it re-downloads itself every 2 mins as well, so there's almost no stopping it....

and supposedly the uninstall tool leaves a "marker" on my sys. that prevents it from coming back again (I say it's a load of bull)...kinda like a protein marker...

But I still sure as hell intend to leave them a nice little message stating that if I get it again I will sue them...

I am not crazy for trying to sue them, I know quite a few people are in the process of doing so...

Just search "ABI Network" on google, and you'll see how bad it is....

My question to you is why did your dad let you have access to his govt computer? That is a BIG NO NO for us govt employees! He should have taken the computer to the tech guys at his place of work and they would have taken care of it. Another thing is that programs should not be downloaded and installed to a govt computer. Things you and your father should think of.

doesn't quite work that way....

We tell them whatever computer stuff we need, and they give it to us no questions asked. They could care less about what we do to it, as long as when we turn it in, all the parts are there....hell, we have 4 dell laptops that they gave us sitting around that we never use because A.) They don't work cause Dell sux, or B.) because they're just too damn slow...

They're not all-out govt. computers really, but they still own them. We can keep them for as long as my dad still works for the same company (AAFES) and turn them in wherever or whenever...
But still, I was going to tell ABI that they were govt. comps (they technically are) just to see their response...
