Hi folks,

I cannot really believe my experinment. I cannot start or keep it idle if i use TOP FUEL or ODONELL WITH TUNING FOR DIFFERENT BRAND OF FUELS. If i use WILDCAT 20-18, i can make it run and idle. I use 20-18 wildcat to break in my new engine. "MY FRIEND SAID I NEED TO USE THE SAME FUEL????" "HE SAID THAT EVEN ALL PPL KNOW WILDCAT IS HOT RUNNING, BUT HIS 24.7 RUNS MUCH BETTER THAN TOP FUEL." Prove me wrong that i have to use the same fuel for break in.
Background: My Evader (OS 0.18) was broke in with temp monitoring not over 250.

cheers and thank you very much.

In my case, not true. I went from Monster HP, to Odonnel, back to Monster HP and then to Byron's on my Novarossi NS12S3. Never had a problem with idle, just different performance. I went to byron's and never looked back. I can't comment on wildcat since I have never used that brand.

And, yes ... I had to do a slight retune with each fuel manufacturer.

I had to retune between Top Fuel and Trinity Horsepower, but that was about it. But yeah, the manufactors "suggest" ya stick with the same fuel (And its usually the brand who made the mill, If they make it)

no you dont have to stay with the same brand. yes wildcat runs hot, because it has a shitload of oil in it. like 20+% iirc, i was shocked when i read the label, and wouldnt touch it with a 10 foot pole. all you have to do is retune when switching fuels. the main reason manufactures recommend against changing fuels is because they want to continue selling your thiers, and newbies dont retune and ruin engines because of it.

I went from O'donnel to Byrons, 8% to 11% oil, I just had to make a very small adjustment on the HSN and I was all good.

I went from trinity MHP to blue thunder to byrons to wildcat back to trinity. All of which ran, but the BT and wild cat ran hot. All with the same engine. I broke in with MHP.
