i have recently purchased two used traxxas vehicles and i can't get them to start but they will turn over . I have put new glow plugs in but am not sure how to tune them can anyone please give some advise also they are manual start .
are you priming the engine...hold your finger over the exahaust hole while you try to start the motor...this will make it draw the fuel into the carb...you should be able to see the fuel go through the line..once you see the fuel reach the carb let your finger off and continue to try to start it...as far as the tune...i would just start over from factory settings (unless it runs decent once you get it started)...which i believe are the low speed needle flush with the top of the hole its screwed into and the high speed needle 4 or 4 1/2 turns out....not sure if its 4 or 4 1/2...once you start it if its running ok make sure you have a good smoke trail blowing out the exhaust when your running it...also probably would be a good idea to have a heat gun to but thats not absolutely necessary, although it is nice to know your not frying your engine and it comes in handy when dialing in the tune...as far as how to tune there is several methods and ways to explain how to...do a search on here and I'm sure you'll find more info than you'll care to read lol....read a bunch till you have a good general idea of what your supposed to do and what that's supposed to do to way the engine runs and start tuning...its kinda annoying but once you get the hang of it it isn't so bad unless you have a difficult engine (some engine are just hard to tune and don't want to stay tuned...the 3.3 in my experience is one of them) or air leaks or something of that nature...since they are used its kind of a shot in the dark...most people hesitate to buy a used nitro because it so risky (unless the price is right)...good luck with it
