Playing with Sky

Since we have not bashed in a few months we went out this afternoon. Since I did not have someone to watch my daughter our playground was a little less than our normal beat-the-crap-out-of-our-stuff kinda place. While there were a few dirt mounds to jump, they proved a little too steep a take off to get any major air.

I stripped out one of the rims in my savage and had to borrow a set of rims with stock T-Maxx tires on them from Sky, since I forgot the half dozen sets of rims I have at my place. My electric worked pretty good but by no means compared to my savage. I think I'll just keep it around for terrorizing the parking lot by my place or to use when my savage is broken.

Hopefully next time we'll go to some epic spot for some great flying. Hopefully next time my camera will have returned from Washington so I can add some pics here. All in all it was a fun day if only for a few hours. Wait'll next time.

Right on, I feel your pain EP. I went to the local track this PM (my usual bash zone is across the street from the track and I don't bash there if folks are at the track). I was diggin the Hyper with the 16t CB and on the third run I noticed the ass end wanted to be in front all the time. Pulled over and found one front rim was free wheelin. Noone had a rim I could borrow, so I pulled the front DBs. It was ok, but not as fun as 4x4. Funny thing is, I was gonna take a spare set, but blew out of the house without them. Next time that will not happen.

And what's this about being too steep? A loading dock is too steep. Anything less just needs a longer entry run.

Naw, this went from perfectly flat to near Everest steepness. Our trucks basically stopped when they hit the mound.

Just raggin ya Pirata. Bummer about not gettin to the good dirt, maybe next time. I saw some really good dirt friday, but it's almost 2 hours away frome here. Didn't have the time to stop, and didn't have my truck. Figures, huh? At leaste ya got to burn some nitro and break something....

The loading dock analogy fits. The one pile of dirt was sitting on top of some not so crushed concrete "boulders", and skid plate...horsepower...and more torque could not have done anything more than created a really horrendous crunching noise if one were to try and take it at speed. The other was a power absorbing pile of gravel. If we had massaged the takeoff area a little we might have been able to get some air off of it, but for the most part we just had fun doing donuts and trying to run each other's truck over without nailing the driver.

It was not our usual playground...and the next time will have to be. Pirata, the babysitter has given the green light for a trip south. So come down here next time. Her only stipulation is that it be after the Fourth of July weekend. How does the weekend of the 11th sound? Let me know.

Error...if you are available and want to make the trek, you are welcome to join. We might even be able to pull out a couch for you to crash on.

Construction site bashing...the only way to go.

Sweet! I'll see if I can put it on the "action item list". I'm almost at the point of telling my boss to cram it where the sun don't shine and take some time off. 3 years and I havn't taken more than 2 consecutive week days off in a row (without being sick). Tomorrow might be the day, due to stupidity on Friday (not mine, but I'll get blamed somehow). I feel sorry for my savage at times, I hope it's still functional by the 11th.

So when is this bash session going down? I'm only an hour and 15 minutes away from VA Beach. I should have my Savage and my NMT back together Monday after being down for almost a month. I would love to join you guys if the timing is right.:radio:

Wow that's cool beans. It's going on next weekend. Since Error's driving 5 hours to do this I guess you should not have a problem driving north about the same tijme I am driving south. We're planning on meeting in the Va Beach area and probably hitting a construction site that'll give some major air. Let me get with Sky, or he can get with you about this weekend.

We are bashing both on Saturday (12 JUL) and Sunday (13 JUL). Showtime is 1200 at my place in Virginia Beach on each day. From there we will truck pool/caravan to the nearest construction site of interest. I am scouting the sites this week.

Let me know if you can come and play. I'll pass directions to my place, when you confirm you are coming.
