Do I have to use a piston/sleeve combo specifically for the trx 2.5 when I rebuild or will any P/S work as long as it is a .15 size? I was just wondering what my options are when the time comes to rebuild. Just wondering because I plan on buying a new engine in the future when I get bored with the power of the 2.5 and wanted to know the compatibility of pistons and sleeves. Thanks for any info!

WHaddup,

SIrio makes a kick ass Piston and sleeve specifically for the 2.5. It adds VERY noticable power through the entire power band and cost around $5-10 more then the TraxxaSS replacement. I run it and it screams.

BTW...Next time please post in the Nitro engine forum or The Maxx forum for Traxxas engine stuff and Maxx stuff.

get one specifically made for the 2.5 because of porting reasons and like 30% i also run the siro P/S and love it and i deff saw a performance increase (I'm also thinking of going to get the sirio crankshaft)

will that sirio piston and sleeve combo fit in my 4-tec? Its got a 2.5 in it. You guys got a link to it?

Just because its a 2.5 doesn't mean it sa Maxx-could be a 4tec or rustler.

How is tuning affected?Easier or harder?

NOOP- i can't see why you wouldnt beable to use it for the engine in your 4-tec because its the same as the MAXX

Jon2- Tuning was a lil easier than the stock but the engine i got must have been a good one because i have never had any tuning issues that i hear people bitching about
