so i just got this ofna ravager and it has the .21 on it. i couldnt get this thing to start up at all. tried 3 different glow plugs, 2 different fuels, and i still got nothing. i set the carb back to factory settings and still nothing. so i took the head off and at some point in time i flipped the block upside down, and the piston sleeve fell out. i know right, crazy, that shouldn't happen. or at least i don't think it should happen. so the guy i got it from just happened to give me another sleeve and what do you know, it fits. alot better than the one before it i might add. but still no start. i've tried to lean it out, tried to richen it up and i swear nothing is working. i need help. it's to the point where i'm about to part it out for my tmaxx. please give me some ideas of what i can do to get this thing started. i just want to play with it for a little bit and my hopes and dreams are being crushed because i'm still a noob.

If you replaced the sleeve you should replace the piston with it.If it just fell out god only knows if the piston is the right one also if you dont have enough compression its not gona run.The piston and sleeve have to wear in together like a new engine you can't mix old and new thats a no no!

yeah i changed the piston as well. but as of now, my glow plug ignitor needs to be recharged. and i think that my tuning skills were terrible to begin with. so i just freshened up with some of squirrels videos on youtube. so o'm going to retry here in a little bit. thanks for the help.

You need a fully charged ignitor. If your getting fuel to and in the engine(you never specified), the engine has pinch and the ignitor/glow plug is good, it should start.

yeah sorry my bad. i've been at this for 3 days straight. i've never failed this hard. but i am getting fuel, i just think my tune is completely out of whack.

Just remember when you do get it goin treat it like a new engine till you break in that piston and sleeve!:D

Also I've noticed that when I touch my glow plug ignitor to the head and to the glow plug itself my throttle servo goes nuts. I'm not sure if this would short out the ignitor so it wont heat up the glow plug or what. Its done that since I got it. But I haven't had it running yet. So any help on what that means would be greatly appreciated.

Check the plug in the ignitor out of the engine see if it glows it could be the socket on the ignitor is shorting .

everything i've done to fix this car and i figured it out. i suck at life. i'm not getting a good enough seal on the gas tank so it'll start up for a few seconds but then it'll die. i tried a few different hoses to make sure but i'm almost positive that it's not getting a good seal. is there anyway you guys have ghetto rigged your tank for a good seal for a temporary fix?

I my opinon if you know thats the problem get a new tank. Otherwise a half ass fix will give you half ass results! Bubble gum & bailin wire never fixes anything right!:p:

+1. Be patient and get a new tank. A sealed fuel system is the only fuel system that works. If you lose fuel pressure, you run the risk of starving the engine of fuel to the point of failure.

yeah. i have to find time though to drive all the way to the nearest hobby shop which is approximatlely 40 minutes away. i'm too impatient to order it off ebay. but since i have to break it in i'm just going to wait til spring. now all i got is my tmaxx to bash around.
