i have done a search all ready with no success and just need someone who can pinch my piston and sleeve

thanks
lyle

ray does nice work....OS makes em too tight and a few friends have snapped conrods from his work.....Pinching is an art and IMO ray is an artist....

Prime reason why I just buy a new sleeve. Half the chrome coating is worn away anyways, why bother running the risk of going down to the brass?

wear is relative to the "mating it does in the sleeve.....I polisj mine before I have them pinched now and they last longer after the pinch it seems.....I have 2 RG engines that feel better than the 3rd one I had (sold this wekend) that wasn't pinched, just broken in......and the 2 I still have, 1 has over 6 gallons in it now..the other 3....they are hard as hell to turn over cold....not tight but just perfect compression....they were pinched using the method Ray racing does.....the guy I go to locally copied his way of doing it....it rocks.....every mill I have now I throw a pinch on it after 2 gallons just to keep it close to original shape......

I can see doing that, but not after 10 gallons or so. People look for the ultimate cheapest way out of a new engine or a rebuild... they think pinching will be the solution at that point.

Sometimes it is...depends onthe mill...I know guys who have close to 20 gallons on Rossi mills and they got them pinched around 11 or so....now a traxxass 2.5 if you got 5 gallons on I'd say congratulations ar ein order.....depends on how you've treated you mills too...if you hammer them then yeah 10 gallons and i'm sure you tore up some other stuff too though and even replacing the P/S won't cure it......just an option if you know that's the only thing wrong w/ it.....

Well, I'm on gallon 14 with my OS 21 RG in my buggy. 11 prior to pinch, 2.5 or so since the pinch. It still gets stuck at TDC when it's cold and I have to pry the flywheel past TDC with a screwdriver.

i have used rayaracing for 3 of my motors and i really like his work.. just make sure you state how tight you want the pinch.. i didnt do it the 1st p\s i sent to him and it was VERY tight but hes a nice guy a offered for a releave in the pinch.. but i managed to get it to loosen up on my own..

I'm not a big fan of the resizing myself..have tried it with sorry results was skeptical wanted to see..and didnt work for me.also know a few others that have sent theirs off with not so impressive results.because once you wear a sleeve and piston out you lose material.and pinching the sleeve isnt gonna put the material that was lost back..all you are doing is gaining compression back but not the material that has worn away over time..i always say get a new piston and sleeve will be better off.

But, you are still getting the same performance, with new pinch, and possibly 10 more gallons on that re-pinch, saving lots of money compared to buying a new p/s...

Just curious to know who did your resizing? I've heard the same from those ebay pinch rings.

I'm on gallon 4 after my pinching on my OS 21 RG from osrocket and the engine runs better than my OS 21 RG that was new 2 gallons ago.

BTW, the pinched engine is on gallon 15 total.

rb done our resizing. and yes it was on ebay..i wasn't impressed with it at all..maybe other guys do better at resizing..would be nice if it would work for me..i have a hyper 21 8 port race that could use a rebuild..but if you guys think that resizing will work..ill try it one more time thru someone else that does it.

I pinched an older engine of mine (os cv .12), and it ran great.. I ended up retiring it in favor of a new engine, but overall, pinching works great.

I bought one of those pinch rings off ebay. Take my word for it, if you get one, practice on an old engine that you don't give a care-one about, or else you'll WAAAY overpinch it, if you follow the included instructions.

I'm sorry what is this {piching the sleeve}? how is it done can I do this my self I have a lot of 2.5 sleeve's and 1.5 thank's
