i just got the rb ws7II. I want a exhuast for my buggy. I'd like to go with an 086. Can i use any band? i.e. an ofna 086 or are rb's worth the extra coin? Any other recs for a qualty but more affordable pipe?

IMHO...

I have a WS7II with an RB 086 and OFNA 063. There isn't much increase in performance with the 086 while the 063 offers better gas efficiency. Also the 063 was only about $50 (less than half the 086 cost).

You could use the ofna pipe and get along just fine. The RB pipe is going to compliment the RB engine a bit better and will also be a bit stronger. If you can affford the cake, go with the RB pipe, but getting the ofna one won't be a major hinderance either.

Although the RB pipe was excellent I found it wasn't very durable. After about six hours of use it had several dents requiring attension. The OFNA pipe is very similar. I've found in-line pipes in general to be of the same design: very light, thin aluminum with a stong emphasis on racing. Therefore I use a cheap non-racing in-line pipes for bashing and switch to the liter design for more serious competition.

In a side by side comparison of the Ofna pipe and the THS 1/8 pipe, the THS is a little bit thicker everywhere, most noticeable on the stinger. The THS is also much smoother on the inside.

I have used both with a WS7, I used the 063 version and had to wait forever on the RB so I bought an Ofna in the meantime. While the Ofna is not a bad pipe at all, it lacks the low end punch of the RB version. I was satisfied with it until I got the RB and tried it out. Its a very nice improvement and worth paying 115 for. As NA said, it is more fragile although I never damaged mine. I do know some who did.
