I have a emaxx with a castle creations mamba and my pinoin gear keeps coming loose what do I do? I dont wanna locktite cause the setscrew has a loose feeling if I use a metric or a standard allen wrench... I can't seem to get it tight enough

Get a new set screw and use blue locktite. You really need to put some grunt into the set screw. A bit of a touch-up on the flat part of the shaft with a dremmel could help too.

Yep a new set screw or a new pinion all together, I have never had to use loctite on a pinion set screw, just lock it down tight on the flat spot of the motors output shaft and never had a problem. Also make sure you are using a hardened precession ground tip allen wrench that is the correct size for the set screw so you can get it good and tight with out stripping the set screw so easy.
