0ver heating,again and again.... HELP!!!

Just replaced piston/sleeve on the 2.5. Religiously broken in by the book. Now it seems to be doing it all over again....Runs great when it's first starting to heat up.After a few passes it begins to bog and hesitate when I give it throttle. Not running it hot,it's not over 270, usually around 250. I've includded some pics of the piston and cooling head. Notice the orangish color on the outside of the piston and in the centre it's black? What would cause this 2.5 to be wearing a piston/sleeve like this?

Where are the pics?

hope this works

What kind of fuel are you running? Brand, nitro% and oil%?

Looks like rust is in there already. You don't have water in your bottle do you? Or is your fuel orange? If I'm not mistaken, the black is from running rich. But I could be wrong. How does your glow plug's inner coil look? Is it disfigured, black, shiny, powder coated looking?

Do you use after run oil?

Is it possible tha your temr gun is out of calibration?

Could it be that you're running OK/borderline at the beggining of the tank, then when the fuel drops a bit, it gets leaner (just how nitros work) And it hesitates and bogs because it is lean and hot.

Another scenario. It possible that your LSV is really lean, and your HSV is over rich.

Runing around at full throttle opens up the carb allowing it to run cool/rich. So after a few high speed runs it's nice and cool. Then when you go back to stop and go bashing your not always WOT so it uses the LSV setting, whch heats up quick. Basically an over rich HSV masking a lean LSV.

I dont know what happened with these threads, I got really confused. From now on can we use this thread, and this one only to help troubleshoot your engine? That way my not so quick mind can keep up :D

I aggree with olds it 100% I saw an article on how to read glow plugs as to wether the engines to rich or lean. I will see if I can find it.

Yea I saw the same writeup somewhere else. Christain, you could put that writeup in the Reviews section under Tips. How bout it.

Looks like the handiwork of blue thunder 20% to me, the oils always leave that color on the piston and sleeve.
