Got a very gently used Micro DT on ebay for $46. I have run down the battery 2 times and i am very pleased with the purchase. The run time isnt too bad in stock form but I'm sure there are some mods in the future. I think ill start off with the threaded axles and ball bearings. Is it worth it to get the wall charger or should i just go to the lipo? Also would it be possible to modify the traxxis charger to work with this thing? Like if i was to get the right pugs to make an adapter would it charge the battery correctly?

Here is a pic of the DT with its big brother the Revo.

I'm not sure what the traxxas charger puts out for amps. I know I charged mine pretty harshly with my MRC959 charger at .5A and it held up ok. I lengthened my micro-t's chassis and threw some aaa's on it. I have been charging them the same without issue. Nothing like 30+ minutes of runtime!

Ditching the axles and getting bearings are both good ideas. If you have pets at all, you will spend a lot of time getting the hair out of the axles and bearings. Even after vacuuming my living room 3 times with a really good vacuum, it still picked up hair/fuzz. I found that getting the raminator tires helped with that though by getting it up off the floor just a wee bit more. I recently just picked up the DT tires/rims and they aren't quite as tall. With them mounted backwards, the thing drives like it's on rails in the house though.

Well i found that the traxxas charger puts out almost 1 amp so I'm not going to use it. I may modify the stock charger to hook up to a wall charger i have. I did the bearings and axles and got a noticeable improvement in speed and run time. I got about 2 more min running mostly full throttle. Do you have any pics of the modified chassis and aaa setup?

Yes, it's very hack though. I should buy a DT chassis deck then I may be able to put the aaa's in the chassis vs tape them to the sides...

I've gotten losi oil shocks since then and put on a set of DT tires.

How does it run with the bigger tires on it? so far i have just been running on the garage and on the driveway with the stockers and it spins around pretty quick.

That video is funny Olds. I like how the cat decides to sit down as if it got bored yet still can't stop watching it. hehe.
