ok i have a 2.5 right now and i wanted a better engine. which would have more power and better to tune. they are both around the same price please help me out.

Sorry, but I don't have either. Although, I have read a lot about both of them.

Depending on how much $ you have on hand after you buy the engine would depict what you do.

The 21 will cause drivetrain issues. You would probably be best to buy good cvd's, aluminum diff cups, rrp trans gears, rrp clutchbell and spur. Also wouldn't be a bad idea to get al diff cases and collars as well.

With the 18, you will gain some power but not an excessive amount that will eat your truck for lunch and spit it out.

I do have a 21 maxx, but it's a 21 conversion. If the P2 21 puts out over 2hp like the specs say, you would be best making sure you have the $ to cover the list of stuff I put above plus the P2. Also, to get the best power out of the P2, which tacks on more $, I've read quite a few posts about the fact that you need to get a new header and pipe as well, or your just selling the engine short. Here's a thread that discuss's the pipe issue some: https://www.rcnitrotalk.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=15517

I have the Sirio .18, and it makes very good power, esp. with the big-bore pipe, and MS air filter. I'm running a 7.5 lb. T-Maxx, and it twisted a new 2.5 driveshaft, and I'm running 23/64 with the sportmaxx tranny. Also, it did it on a dirt oval, not jumping or bashing. If you get one, just take your time to break it in, I've never had an engine take so long to break-in. (3/4 gal.)
