I bought two TMaxxs 2.5s with Picco Max .21 motors both trucks are rebuilt completely from the same person.one runs like a bat out of hell and the other one will not start unless you give it a little throttle with the remote, sometimes it will take of and run great and then just shut off, sometimes it would start and idle high and try to jump into gear.Sometimes it will not even start at all.I use the easy start system.I can not get it to idle down by the screw. Please Help!:(

Have you reset the needles back to factory settings? Sounds like your running lean. What kinda temps are you seeing when it does run?

Factory settings and check for air leaks. Most of the time when it is needle settings the engine will act close to the same, but the way you described it I would check for leaks too.

You can also check the screw through which you can adjust the fuel if still problem exists then reset but first try it hopefully the problem will be solved..

Pretty sure picco's are known for leaky main front bearings as well.

I'd pull the engine, tear it down, clean it up, seal the backplate/carbneck/carb inlet fitting with RTV. Take out all needles, inspect for damage, put some associated green slime on them and put them back in.

Would also be a good idea to first check your clutch to make sure it's not dragging on you. A dragging clutch will stall an engine once the idle gets down to a normal level. Will also make it hard to start without applying a decent amount of throttle.

They are known for leaky bearings, but it's not going to cause any tuning issues unless the bearing itself is worn.

I once had a used picco that just would not run right at all I tryed everything , then I was looking at the RTV the engine was sealed with and if it had to much on it.
so I opened it up to find a wedge of RTV inside the back of the crank , can be hard to see, RTV acting like a propeller and push fuel out the bearing's and making it run very bad.
this may not be your problem but it is something every one should check for if your engine has problems and has RTV on it
