I was wondering if maybe it's not on the rich side (lsn). If it's lean it wouldn't be drawing as much fuel. I have my lsn a little lean on purpose on my Sirio .18, and it will run about 20 seconds upside down.

How long is your fuel intake line? Remember, your running a 21 now which is less econimical than the TRX 2.5 or a .18. So, when it's on it's lid, it's going to empty the line quicker as well. Maybe lengthen the line, but don't go over 10 inches or you will run into wierd tuning problems.

hey you guys, do u here your maxx shift into 2nd gear when starting from a stop into full throttle and holding it.I can here it only when I'm around half throttle or less.I adjusted my shift point to shift later and didn't help.Is this because of the power of the p2 or maybe clutching?I tried the 3 shoe integy,MIP and stock clutches, what do u guys think?other than that, the p2 motor is awsome as I said before.ran 3 gallons so far and no tranny problems, only minor problem is the twisting of axles and drive shafts!

Your slipper may be slipping when you hit second which would make it so you can't hear it. Did you put 12 pegs in it instead of 6 when you put the 21 in? If not, try that.

thanks you guys I,ll try tighting the slipper ,and yes I did put 12 pegs in when I switched to the p2

thanks again!!!

well, I started liking the power from my Picco Max .21 but after today, I have second thoughts for the whole thing. It took me an hour or so to get this truck running between glow plug changes, fuel line swaps, and needle adjustments. I think I was able to get 4 good 2 minute runs with this thing to see the low and high power from it. The thing was running on average around 230 degrees. I had problems starting it and keeping it running no matter how fine of a needle adjustment I went. Finally after another short burst of a play time, I got to like a bit past half throttle and it shut down completely. I went over to go start it back up and the pull cord was so tight that there was no way this thing was gonna get started. I loosened up the glow plug to release some compression and pull on the cord and still way too tight. I pulled of the glow plug completely and the pull cord was still way too tight. I spun the flywheel to see if the piston would move up and down, and absolutely no movement at all. The crank just does not want to move the piston up and down at all or even move a bit.
This Picco Max .21 is fairly new so I contacted Ofna and waiting for an answer back.

Wow, sounds like a broke con rod or crank... I've seen that on the OS 21 RG 3 times... same kind of thing, just tooling along about 1/2 throttle and BAM!!! Dead engine.

I hope they replace it for you. Sounds like you kind of had a dud from the get go.

yeah, something is broke inside. I just pulled off the pull start and one way bearing is good, I aslo pulled off the clutch and flywheel and as I had engine in my hand, I did a little look through all the holes and there was a definite rattle of something broken inside. I am not gonna go further into it and just wait for an answer from Ofna.

Many problems with that engine

I had one of the first P2 engines from Werks racing, and ran it the first part of the season, and then the last 2 weeks it has acted about like yours did, and racing this last week i would get about 4 minutes into the race and it would loose all power. I could start it back up after it cooled down and it would idle fine but took the engine apart that night and it had seized at one time or another, and had bad score marks, mainly on the exhaust side. Engine was pretty strong, but no run time on it, less the 2 gallons of fuel through it. I would suggest any to either stay with the small block, Sirio 18 or such, I had good results running two of them the whole last season, their only problem was a crummy carb, and if you put a good carb off a Mugen or some other engines on it, it even held a good tune and ran strong the whole year. I also had a few trucks I raced last year with big blocks I liked in them, but for the most part the small block with a light Maxx seems to be the way to go if you want to stay with a Maxx. Hope Ofna can give you some good answers, or help with the engine. If you get a chance take the head off and look at the top of the sleeve and see if it still looks good, I would say it will have marks in it. That is bad, as I have had great results with Picco engines in cars.
