The wing will Def offer additional height for protection in a roll, but if it rolls onto a rock or something, you might have problems.

Wow! That's a very cool looking rig! I Def see what you're saying about the needle. I would open up that hole a little bit. I know it will take away a lil of the coolness but function over form in this case. Another option is to get a body that goes right over the needle but I would still out a loop over it at least. That way you have a nice looking stock body to show off when it's on the shelf when not in use!
Thanks yeah Imma buy a new shell at the summer, this body is already cracking too :D

That's true. You could Def just chance it. Maybe the needles are cheap and the carb won't actually crack or break with a direct impact.

I don't see where the needle will get damaged ,unless you drive or wreck in to some kind of debris field!
Here ya go ,fixed it for ya!.....:p

Thanks man, Can't wait to use this thing again :hyperbuggy:

Yeah, Thats a bummer cuz that is a nice looking shell! You can reinforce the cracked area with shoe goo. Def do a test to make sure the goo doesn't hurt the paint.

Yeah to be honest I don't even have any info on this specific engine. It is just really old and the part that bugs me out is that instead of 3 I'm some how dealing with 5 tuning needles not including the take out screw

Where can I get that

Okay so we got the high speed. Then the idle is top right. I'm guessing the low speed is under. Then we have the big mid range. Then we have another screw on left side behind the fuel line?

I am looking at these pics on a phone. For whatever reason, your pics are HUGE which is cool so I can see everything up close, but I don't quite have a handle on the whole overall pic... Anyways, check out this page. I posted it for another person a while back who had a crazy carb and it answered his questions. If not, let me know. I think I have some other pages marked... Somewhere. My bookmarks are a disaster! Lol!

Shoe goo is literally just that... It is this goopy rubber cement type stuff that works for putting your soles back on your shoes. Shoe stores would likely carry it But I'm thinking even like a Wal-Mart type place would stock it.

This one may also help to answer some questions. While I don't own one, it seems the 3 needle set ups are a lot less complicated than the first seem.
If this doesn't help in that aspect, it does show a great simple roll bar set up. ;)

Yeah I just read the whole thing. It answers my question about what the big one in the valve does. It said the low and high and idle are the adjustments so the 5th needle might just be a "clutch joint set" as they said

Lol...that's the first time I seen a carb like that ,no wonder you got confused ,that's a lot of screws!
How old is that engine?.....:wideyed:

Agreed! Those carbs are Def funky to say the least! I'm glad that was able to clarify the mysteries! :thumbs-up:
I think if it was my rig, I would be sure the engine was strong. Be sure it's not leaking, it's all smooth (bearings are good) and the compression is all there. If you are satisfied with all that, see what you can find for a more modern carb.
Replacing a carb can be a pain because of all the matching up that you have to do. You might get lucky and find a direct fit, easy and cheap. You don't have to replace it but at least if it becomes a problem, you already know your options.

Sadly I have no information on this engine and can't find not even pictures online... But hopefully if it doen't have a over sized carb like the .27 engine then I could use common carbs :thumbs-up:. But the guy selling it only said that he is getting rid of his stuff from old race days:bored:

Yeah, and I guess it got really good com. because the fly wheel went from soft to hard the more I turned it. To be honest the engine got a little warm for some reason just turning the fly wheel . I guees that's good
