Ofna P4/ Can I safely run my engine if I remove the pull start inner assenbly and put the housing back on or do I need to replace the complete package w/ some sort of back plate?

I would replace the crank as it has way more extra unblanced weight that the non PS crank has. Did you get a starter box? I would check to see if you could get a new crank and backplate. If you do what your talking about I think that would be fine as long as the cover was on so no dirt wound up back there.

This in my 9yr. old sons ofna 9.5, I,m sticking w/ the P4 untill his driving ability improves. Seem to be a dependable engine. I bought a starter box w/ the buggy because i read about broken pull strings etc. in these forums. The pull handle seems to be in the way all the time. Just irratating. thanks for the response humboltblazer.
