have a new mini t and have a serious dislike for almost anything stock. was wondering what i need to do to install a peak chubby or faster motor. any help will be .......helpfull.

You can either dremel the exsisting holes in the motor plate to be bigger and fit that motor, or just buy a bigblock motor plate.

Mamba over Chubby, no comparision. You are talking about a good throw away motor against a brushless.

and the stock electronics can handle the Chubby motor.

I too have been looking at the peak chubby motor since my raider broke. I've heard good things bout the chubby motor. My question is: Is it that fastest micro brushed motor I can put in the mini-t? I plan to use a 7-cell pack w/ GP1100's in it. My goal is to get my mini-t up to 30 w/o brushless...

no it is not the fastest brushed motor for the micro. Ok for those that don't know the Peak Chubby, Team Orion Big Block, Graupner Speed 300, and many other Big Block motors are all Mabuci motor with a different sticker. Now some motors like the Rabid Chichuahua from Blind and the Beast from one18th are the mabuci motor put on a dyno and modified for higher rpms and also is put under load while doing so. Higher the rpms the faster the top speed, this is always not a good thing especially on a short track.

Ya, i forgot to add that I want it to have good low-end torque so that I can race w/ it.

Your best bet for 30mph without brushless is to keep the weight down, gear up for speed with a different pinion and use a Li-Poly battery. Other than that I have a hard time seeing you get to your goal on Ni-MH as you only have so much room for batteries. I would say mine is close to 30 and I have a dynoed Mabuchi motor that is dynoed for high speed or high rpms and I use the 7.4V Li-Poly battery (you just can't match it's high constant discharge rate).
