I bought an UM Spitfire last week, out of the box the ailerons didn't work. Back to the hobby shop (hour drive one way) yesterday and they replaced it no problem. Earlier today I tried it out and it looks great but feels very weak, I had a hard time getting it to climb. I landed to check everything and put a fresh battery and when I tried to take off it wouldn't get more than 10 feet off the ground. I landed it and put it away for now, any ideas?

Have you tried a different battery? Have you checked the TX settings?

I tried two different batteries and everything on the TX is at 100%, not sure what else to try....The mofo has no power!

Have checked the gear mesh on the prop and motor? It could eat some power if it's not properly meshed and these birds don't really have a lot to spare.

After reading about these motors locking up pretty easy I put a few drops of wd-40 in the motor and it instantly sounded better and put out a lot more! I also added a little weight to the nose and she flies! It doesn't climb or loop as easy as the T-28 but it flies good and it shines doing rolls and flying inverted. I still get very nervous inverted but it's very steady and needs very little down elevator to stay level.

Have you looked at the Edge 540 QQ? A buddy of mine just got one for Christmas, it is crazy.

I have watched videos of this plane and I would love to have it but I think it's a little above my skill level right now. Maybe in the near future.

I was looking for the UMX Piper Super Cub SS today at my LHS. They were picked pretty bare for Christmas and were expecting more in later this week. This one has 5 channels (5th channel for flaps). and is supposed to fly well and be a step up from my UMX T-28D. I figured that the Spitfire would be a bit above my skill level.

From my experience the spitfire sucks, I regret buying it! I'm done with anything with a brushed motor!

The SS cub looks cool, I like that it has flaps. If you buy it let us know your thoughts on it
