paint peeling issues

hey I've bought a few bodies over the past couple months, a pro line crowd pleazer, jconcepts f-150 raptor, jconcepts 79 f-250 ranger, and tamiya stadium blitzer body. I've painted the raptor and crowd pleazer body with krylon spray paint so i know i went wrong there cause theres basically no paint left on the bodies. the 79 Ranger and stadium blitzer body i used tamiya spray paint. i didnt have much trouble with that but the pain seems to separate from the plastic on the hood of the 79 but it sticks back on itself but in both bodies the paint chips off at the edges of the front fenders and on the 79 it came off the the edge of the front bumber. its not too bad, got duck tape covering those spots. but is there any way that i can keep it from happening the next time i buy another body which will probably be soon. thanks

Make sure you clean the body out good with soap and water then final clean with denatured alcohol and use only lexan specific paint ask the guy at your local hobby shop so you get the right paint.

Another tip is to use a scotch brite pad and scuff the areas to be painted before you go through the cleaning process. Don't scuff if you are going to be using chrome though.

Also, to add, when you paint, use multiple thin coats. Don't load the paint on too thick. If you do many thin layers you can build a good color without a lot of paint. The thinner you keep it the more flexible it'll be with use. So only use as much paint as you need to get the color.

thanks for the tips. the very first body i had done was for the t-maxx i sold and my friend used automotive paint and it came out great with no peeling or nothing. but that probably aint gonna be to available to me so i gotta get used to doin it myself and i need all the help i can get. thanks again

i found that i was actually using the wrong Tamiya paint. apparently i was using there rattle cans for plastic and not polycarbonate so theres another part to my problems. just picked up a can of the right stuff and a stampede vxl body for my nitro sport. hopefully this comes out good

I kinda thought thats what you did but i didn't want to make it sound like you were some kind of a idiot thats why i said ask the guy at the hobby shop i think you'll be happy with the results.

lol its all good. acctually the body came out nice its on the stampede as youve seen. stupid mistake i know not to make again
